1. Black screen / no backlight at power-on. First, verify 24 VDC is present at the terminal block — not just at the breaker. A sagging rail under load (below ~19.2 V) will cause the panel to refuse to boot without any error code. If voltage is good, the backlight inverter board is the next suspect. 2. Touch input drifts or stops registering. Resistive panels accumulate calibration error over time, especially in high-vibration environments. Go to System Settings → Touch Calibration and run the 5-point calibration. 3. COM1 communication loss with PLC. Check the RS-232/485 mode jumper inside the panel (accessible via the rear cover). Confirm it matches your wiring: RS-232 for point-to-point, RS-485 for multi-drop. A mismatch here looks identical to a cable fault. 4. Ethernet link established but no data exchange. The HMIGTO2300 does not support DHCP by default. Assign a static IP in the same subnet as your PLC. Confirm the Vijeo Designer project’s target IP matches the panel’s configured address — a mismatch after a firmware update is a common trap.

Replacement procedure (field-tested, 15-minute swap):

1. Power down the cabinet. Lock out / tag out per your site procedure.
2. Photograph the existing wiring at the 24 VDC terminal and COM1 connector before disconnecting anything.
3. Release the four panel mounting clamps from the rear. Slide the unit forward out of the cutout.
4. Transfer the Ethernet cable, USB programming cable, and 24 VDC leads to the replacement unit. Torque the terminal screws to 0.5 N·m — loose connections cause intermittent resets.
5. Seat the new panel into the cutout. Tighten clamps evenly to avoid warping the bezel against the IP65 gasket.
6. Power up. The panel will boot to the Vijeo Designer runtime. If the project is stored on the panel’s Flash, it will load automatically. If not, download the project via USB or Ethernet from your engineering laptop.
7. Run touch calibration. Verify all PLC communications are live before releasing the machine.
