Fault Symptom: Controller RSLogix/Studio 5000 reports “Module Does Not Exist” or “I/O Module Faulted” for one or more 1769 modules. The entire I/O bank may go offline simultaneously.
Root Cause Check — Before You Order a New I/O Module:
- Inspect the right end of your 1769 I/O bank. Is the 1769-ECR physically present and fully seated? A partially engaged end cap breaks the bus connector continuity — the controller sees an open bus and faults the entire bank.
