1. Gap Voltage Out of Range (most common)
Your 3500/42M or CON021 is alarming on gap voltage — typically reading above –2 V (probe too far) or below –18 V (probe too close, or shorted). Before condemning the transducer, check the extension cable first. The PR9268 cable jacket is polyurethane and degrades at compression fittings exposed to steam or oil.
