Step-by-Step Hot-Swap Procedure

1. Verify redundancy is active. On the Experion Engineering Console, confirm the partner FTE port (Port B if Port A failed) is carrying live traffic. The controller must be in redundant mode before you touch anything.
2. Notify the control room. Even with hot-swap, inform the board operator. Any transient on the backplane during extraction can cause a brief diagnostic alarm — operators should not mistake it for a process upset.
