330101-00-48-05-02-00 — Stop the Clock on Your Turbomachinery Downtime
Every hour your compressor train or steam turbine sits idle, the losses compound — lost throughput, contractual penalties, emergency crew costs. The Bently Nevada 330101-00-48-05-02-00 is the exact 8mm double-insulated eddy-current proximity transducer your 3300 XL monitoring system needs to get back online. We stock it in Xiamen, we ship it today, and it drops straight into your existing installation without recalibration. That’s the only conversation that matters when you’re staring at a tripped machine.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
Most common failure modes for this probe in the field:
1. Gap voltage out of range (most frequent call-out)
Nominal gap is –10.0 VDC on a steel target at ~1.0 mm. If your monitor is throwing a Not OK or the gap voltage reads outside –2 VDC to –18 VDC, the probe is either mechanically damaged, the target surface is corroded, or the Proximitor® driver has failed. Swap the probe first — it’s the cheapest part. Verify gap voltage at the Proximitor® output terminals before condemning the monitor card.
2. Intermittent signal / high noise floor
Nine times out of ten this is a ground loop, not a failed probe. The double-insulated (-02-00 suffix) version exists precisely to break this loop. If you’re replacing a single-insulated probe with this unit, confirm your extension cable and Proximitor® are also rated for double-insulated systems. Mixing insulation classes defeats the purpose and can introduce worse noise than before.
3. Replacement procedure — step by step
- De-energize the monitor channel and confirm –24 VDC supply is isolated at the I/O module terminal strip.
- Record the existing gap voltage and probe orientation angle before removal — photograph the installation.
- Remove the probe from the bracket. Do not rotate the cable assembly; unscrew the probe body only.
- Install the 330101-00-48-05-02-00 into the same bracket. Thread by hand to avoid cross-threading the stainless housing.
- Set initial gap to 1.0 mm (use a feeler gauge or the –10 VDC reference method at the Proximitor® output).
- Re-energize the channel. Confirm gap voltage is –10.0 ±0.5 VDC. Adjust probe depth in 0.1 mm increments if needed.
- Lock the probe with the jam nut — torque to 14 N·m (10 ft·lb) for standard stainless brackets.
- Verify the monitor channel clears the Not OK status and the vibration reading is within baseline ±10%.
4. Firmware / monitor compatibility note
The 330101-00-48-05-02-00 is a passive transducer — there is no firmware to match. However, confirm your 3300 XL Proximitor® Sensor (330180 series) is configured for 8mm probe calibration. If the Proximitor® was previously set for a 5mm or 11mm probe, the sensitivity curve will be wrong and your vibration readings will be off by a factor of 1.5–2×. Check the Proximitor® label or the configuration DIP switches on the driver board.
5. ATEX / hazardous area installations
For Zone 1 installations, verify the Zener barrier or galvanic isolator in the circuit is rated for the 3300 XL system. The probe itself carries ATEX and IECEx certification, but the complete loop must be assessed as a system. Do not assume the barrier from a previous probe model is compatible without checking the entity parameters.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The 3300 XL probe body is machined from 316 stainless steel with a PEEK-tipped sensing face — a combination that handles the thermal cycling, process fluid splash, and mechanical shock that destroy lesser sensors within months. In hot-section turbine bearing pedestals where ambient temperatures routinely exceed 150 °C, the 177 °C probe rating provides genuine headroom rather than a marketing number. The double-insulated cable construction uses a fluoropolymer jacket that resists hydrocarbon contamination, steam condensate, and the aggressive cleaning solvents used during outage maintenance.
Vibration immunity is equally serious. The probe assembly is rated to withstand 20g sinusoidal vibration across 10–2,000 Hz — the kind of broadband excitation present in compressor skids with multiple machines sharing a common baseplate. In offshore and marine installations where salt fog and humidity are constant, the MIL-C-5015 connector provides IP67 sealing when properly mated. This is not a sensor you replace every turnaround; properly installed, it runs for years between planned maintenance intervals.
Every unit we ship from Xiamen passes incoming inspection: sensitivity verification against the 7.87 V/mm calibration curve, insulation resistance test (>100 MΩ at 500 VDC between shield and connector body), and dimensional check of the probe tip geometry. We do not ship units that fail any of these checks, regardless of urgency.
Global Express Logistics

- Southeast Asia (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia): 2–3 business days via DHL Express
- Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar): 3–4 business days via FedEx International Priority
- Europe (Germany, Netherlands, UK): 3–5 business days via DHL Express Worldwide
- North America (USA, Canada): 4–5 business days via FedEx International Priority
- Australia / New Zealand: 3–4 business days via DHL Express
All shipments include a commercial invoice with HS code 9026.80 pre-declared, packing list, and — where required — a certificate of origin. For orders requiring ATEX documentation or calibration certificates, these are prepared and included in the shipment package at no additional charge. We provide tracking numbers within 2 hours of carrier pickup. If your customs team needs advance documentation for import clearance, contact us before placing the order and we will prepare the paperwork in parallel with packing.
For plant shutdowns with a fixed restart deadline, tell us your date. We will confirm stock availability, carrier commitment, and estimated delivery before you commit to the purchase. We have shipped to refineries in Jubail, power plants in Jakarta, and compressor stations in Kazakhstan — the logistics complexity is our problem, not yours.
