330103-05-13-10-02-00 — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime. Ship Today.
Every minute a turbine or compressor runs without a functioning proximity probe is a minute your protection system is flying blind. A failed Bently Nevada 330103-05-13-10-02-00 doesn’t just trigger a nuisance alarm — it disables radial vibration monitoring on a critical rotating asset, forces a manual bypass, and puts your machinery protection system into a compromised state that most plant safety protocols will not tolerate beyond a defined grace period. We’ve seen plants burn through $40,000/hour in lost production waiting on a part that should have been on the shelf.
We stock the 330103-05-13-10-02-00 — the 3300 XL 8mm proximity probe with 1.3-metre armored integral cable — and we ship from Xiamen within 24 hours of order confirmation. No broker delays, no grey-market risk. If your DCS is showing a Not OK on a 3300 XL channel right now, this is the part you need and we can have it moving toward your site before your next shift change.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
Symptom: 3300 XL channel shows “Not OK” / gap voltage out of range
Before condemning the probe, check the full signal chain. The 3300 XL system is a three-component loop — probe, extension cable, and Proximitor® sensor — and a fault in any one of them produces the same “Not OK” output. Disconnect the extension cable at the Proximitor® sensor and measure DC gap voltage directly at the probe tip with a calibrated gap tool. If gap voltage is within −10 to −18 VDC at the nominal 1.0 mm gap, the probe is functional and the fault is downstream. If gap voltage is absent or erratic, the probe is the culprit.
Field replacement checklist:
- De-energize the Proximitor® sensor supply before disconnecting the probe. Hot-swapping under power can spike the input stage of the sensor.
- Record the existing gap voltage before removal. Your target after reinstallation is to restore the same gap voltage ±0.5 VDC.
- The 330103-05-13-10-02-00 uses a 3/8-24 UNF thread. Torque to 1.1 N·m (10 in-lb) maximum. Over-torquing cracks the ceramic tip insert — a common field error that produces intermittent signal loss under vibration.
- After installation, verify gap voltage at the Proximitor® sensor terminal strip. Nominal gap for most turbomachinery is 1.0 mm, corresponding to approximately −10.4 VDC on a 3300 XL system.
- Run a static calibration check: sweep the probe from 0.25 mm to 2.0 mm and verify output tracks linearly at 7.87 V/mm. Non-linearity indicates a damaged tip or incorrect target material.
- For ATEX Zone 1 installations, confirm the replacement unit carries the same Ex ia IIC T4/T5 certification as the original. Mixing certification classes is a compliance violation regardless of electrical compatibility.
- Do not substitute a 7200 series probe into a 3300 XL driver. The gap range and linearity curves diverge — the system will appear to work but vibration readings will be off in ways that won’t surface until a trip event.
Common fault codes on Bently Nevada 3500 rack:
- OK Relay de-energized, gap voltage < −18 VDC: Probe too close to target or shorted cable. Check for probe tip contact with shaft.
- OK Relay de-energized, gap voltage > −10 VDC: Probe too far from target, open circuit in cable, or failed Proximitor® sensor oscillator.
- Intermittent OK dropout at running speed: Loose probe locknut, cracked tip, or cable chafing against a rotating component. Inspect cable routing immediately.
- High 1X vibration reading after probe replacement: Probe not re-gapped correctly. Re-verify gap voltage at operating temperature — thermal expansion of the bearing housing changes the gap by 0.05–0.15 mm on large machines.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The 330103-05-13-10-02-00 lives inside bearing housings where temperatures swing from cold-start ambient to 150°C+ at steady state, where lube oil mist coats every surface, and where the probe body absorbs continuous broadband vibration from the shaft it’s measuring. Bently Nevada engineered the 3300 XL probe body from 316 stainless steel with a ceramic-filled epoxy tip insert that maintains dimensional stability across the full −35°C to +177°C operating envelope.
The armored integral cable on the -05-13 variant uses a stainless steel braid over a PTFE-insulated coaxial core. PTFE is chemically inert to virtually all turbomachinery lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and cleaning solvents encountered in power generation and oil & gas service. The braid handles abrasion from cable ties, conduit edges, and incidental contact with rotating guards — the most common cause of field cable failures.
The probe body is qualified to 20g sinusoidal vibration across 10–2000 Hz, covering both structural resonances and blade-pass frequencies on most industrial turbomachinery. The coaxial connector uses a captured, threaded coupling nut that cannot back off under vibration without deliberate manual loosening. The hermetically sealed probe body has no moisture ingress path into the sensing coil assembly. Units in our Xiamen warehouse are stored in climate-controlled conditions with desiccant packaging to preserve factory calibration state.
