Fault Diagnosis Before You Pull the Module:
- BF LED solid red, SF LED off — Bus Fault with no system error. Before condemning the CI920S, walk the PROFIBUS cable. A missing termination resistor at the far end of the segment, or a connector that worked loose during maintenance, produces exactly this symptom. Swap the module and the fault follows you if the bus is the real problem.
- SF LED flashing, BF LED off — System Fault. Open ABB Control Builder M and check the hardware tree. A firmware version mismatch between the CI920S and the CBM project is the most common cause.
