Common Fault Signatures:

  • Handle moves but load side stays live: Internal contact carrier has fractured. This is a mechanical failure — the switch is not actually opening. Do not attempt to reset. Isolate upstream immediately and replace the unit.
  • Intermittent tripping under load: Check terminal torque first. The OT250 requires 10–12 Nm on main terminals. Under-torqued connections cause resistive heating, which degrades the contact surface over time and produces nuisance trips at high ambient temperatures.
