Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

The DSQC431 MDU sits between the main computer unit (DSQC639 or DSQC1000) and the servo amplifier stage. When it fails, the IRC5 cabinet typically throws one or more of the following fault codes on the FlexPendant:

  • 20001 – Motor current error: The MDU has lost closed-loop current regulation on one or more axes. First suspect: DSQC431 internal PWM driver stage failure.
  • 20010 – Drive unit fault: Generic drive bus communication loss. Check the internal ribbon cable connector on the MDU before condemning the board — vibration-induced connector fretting is common on high-cycle lines.
  • 20050 – Axis computer fault: Can be triggered by a degraded DSQC431 sending corrupted torque feedback upstream. Swap the MDU before replacing the more expensive axis computer.
