  • F005 — DC Bus Overvoltage (Sustained): The shunt engaged but could not dissipate energy fast enough. Two causes: the resistor element has degraded (measure resistance across the shunt terminals — deviation beyond ±10% of nameplate value confirms failure), or the deceleration ramp is too aggressive for the module’s duty cycle rating. If sizing is correct and resistance checks out, replace the module.
  • Shunt Overtemperature Warning: The PTC thermistor is signaling the drive before the resistor reaches a destructive temperature. Check panel airflow — the 2093-ASP06 requires a minimum 50 mm clearance above and below for convection cooling. Configuration details engineers frequently overlook:

  • If you have added axes to an existing Kinetix 2000 system since the original commissioning, re-run Rockwell’s Motion Analyzer tool. The original shunt sizing was calculated for a specific combined regenerative load — additional axes braking simultaneously may exceed that calculation.
  • The 2093-ASP06 is not cross-compatible with Kinetix 6000 (2094-BSP2) or Kinetix 5500 regenerative supply modules. The power rail connectors are physically distinct — do not attempt to adapt them.
  • For applications with deceleration ramps under 200 ms at high-inertia loads, consider adding a motor-shaft mechanical brake to share braking duty and extend shunt service life between replacements.
