330101-00-46-10-02-05 — Every Hour of Downtime Costs More Than This Probe
Your turbine tripped at 03:00. The DCS is screaming. Maintenance is on-site and the shift supervisor wants an ETA. You pull the fault log and it points straight to the proximity probe — shaft vibration signal lost, channel fault latched, unit offline. You need a Bently Nevada 330101-00-46-10-02-05 and you need it now.
We stock this probe. It ships from Xiamen within 24 hours via DHL Express or FedEx International Priority. No waiting on OEM lead times. No back-and-forth with a distributor who has to “check with the warehouse.” One call, one order, one probe on its way to your plant.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
Common fault signatures that point to this probe:
- OK Relay de-energized / Channel Not OK: The Proximitor driver has lost the carrier signal from the probe. First check the coaxial connector at the junction box — corrosion or a loose BNC is the #1 field cause before condemning the probe itself.
- Gap voltage out of range (<–2 V or >–18 V): Probe is either touching the shaft or has pulled away beyond the linear range. Verify the physical gap with a feeler gauge: target gap is typically 1.0–1.5 mm (40–60 mil) for 8 mm probes. If gap is correct and voltage is still wrong, the probe is failed.
- High static reading with normal vibration: Shaft runout or a bent probe tip. Inspect the probe face for mechanical contact marks — any witness marks mean immediate replacement.
- Intermittent channel faults under load: Thermal cycling at the probe body connection. Reseat and torque the probe locknut to spec (do not over-torque — 3300 XL probes use a jam-nut design, typically 1.5 N·m).
Replacement procedure — field checklist:
- De-energize the Proximitor driver before disconnecting the probe cable. Hot-swapping the coax while the driver is powered can damage the oscillator circuit.
- Verify the replacement probe suffix codes match: 330101-00-46-10-02-05 — the “46” denotes the probe body length (46 cm), “02” denotes the cable type. Mixing suffix variants within a matched set will shift the calibrated gap voltage and trigger a false Not OK.
- The 3300 XL system does not require re-addressing or DIP switch configuration at the monitor rack when replacing a probe in-kind. The Proximitor driver retains calibration as long as the replacement probe is from the same 330101 series and the gap is reset correctly.
- After installation, perform a static gap check: power up the driver, measure output voltage at the monitor rack terminal, and confirm it falls within –10 VDC ± 1 V at the nominal 1.27 mm (50 mil) gap. Log the as-found and as-left gap voltages in the maintenance record.
- If the system was previously calibrated with a non-standard target material (stainless, Inconel, titanium), a field recalibration of the Proximitor driver is required after probe swap. Do not assume the old calibration curve applies.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The 330101-00-46-10-02-05 is built for environments that destroy lesser sensors. The armored coaxial cable withstands continuous immersion in turbine lube oil, exposure to steam condensate, and the mechanical abrasion of cable trays in high-vibration machinery spaces. The probe body is machined from corrosion-resistant alloy with a hermetically sealed tip — no moisture ingress path to the sensing coil.
Thermal performance is not a marketing claim. The probe is rated to +177°C at the tip, which covers bearing housing installations on steam turbines running at full load. The driver is separately rated to +66°C, consistent with junction box environments in hot process areas. Both ratings are continuous — not peak or derated.
Vibration immunity is inherent to the eddy current measurement principle: there are no moving parts, no contact surfaces, and no wear mechanisms. The probe will outlast the bearing it monitors, provided the cable assembly is protected from mechanical damage. In installations where cable routing passes through high-vibration zones, use the OEM-specified conduit fittings and strain relief hardware — field-improvised cable management is the leading cause of premature probe failure in our experience.
Units in our inventory are stored in climate-controlled conditions, in original or equivalent protective packaging, and are inspected for physical integrity before dispatch. We do not ship probes with bent tips, cracked cable jackets, or corroded connectors — if a unit does not pass visual inspection, it does not ship.
Global Express Logistics
Our dispatch hub is in Xiamen, China — a major international cargo gateway with daily DHL Express and FedEx International Priority departures. From the moment your order is confirmed, the clock starts:
