Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Fault Code: NOT OK / Danger High or Low on 3500 Monitor
Nine times out of ten this is a gap voltage issue, not a dead probe. Before pulling the probe, measure the DC output voltage at the Proximitor® sensor output terminal. Nominal gap voltage for a 1.0 mm air gap on AISI 4140 steel is approximately −10.4 VDC. If you read −24 VDC (rail high) or 0 VDC (rail low), the probe tip is either too far from the target or making contact. Adjust gap first.

Replacement Procedure — Step by Step:

  1. Isolate and de-energize the 3500 rack channel. Do not hot-swap proximity probes on live machinery — the transient can trigger a spurious trip.
