Product Overview

3500/50E Down? Every Minute of Turbine Downtime Costs You Real Money — We Ship Today

Your 3500/50E just tripped. The turbine is locked out. Maintenance is standing by. Production is bleeding cash at a rate your plant manager is already calculating. You don’t need a sales pitch — you need a module on a plane tonight.

We stock the Bently Nevada 3500/50E Dual-Channel Tachometer / Speed Monitor in Xiamen, China. DHL Express cutoff is 18:00 CST. If your purchase order clears before then, this unit moves. No lead time games, no “check back in two weeks.” Shelf stock, verified, boxed, and ready.

The 3500/50E is the speed-sensing backbone of the Bently Nevada 3500 Machinery Protection System. It handles dual-channel RPM acquisition from proximity probes, magnetic pickups, and optical sensors, feeds Keyphasor® reference signals for phase-referenced vibration analysis, and drives relay outputs directly into your trip logic. When it fails — and after 10+ years in the field, they do fail — there is no workaround. You swap the card or you stay down.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

After handling dozens of 3500/50E swaps across gas turbine and compressor trains, here are the failure modes and gotchas that will save you hours on the floor:

Most Common Failure Signatures:

  • SY fault LED solid on at power-up: Almost always a firmware mismatch between the 3500/50E and the rack’s System 1 software version. Before you condemn the card, check the rack’s firmware revision log. A card pulled from a different vintage rack will throw this immediately.
  • Channel A or B reading 0 RPM with machine running: First suspect the field wiring — check probe gap (standard 3300 XL 8mm probe gap is 1.0 mm ±0.1 mm at mid-range). If gap is correct, swap the I/O module first before pulling the monitor card. The I/O module fails more often than the 3500/50E itself.
  • Intermittent overspeed trips with no actual speed excursion: Classic symptom of a degraded Keyphasor® probe or a loose connector on the Keyphasor® input terminal. The 3500/50E uses the Keyphasor® signal for once-per-revolution gating — any noise on that line will cause false trip events.
  • Alert/Danger relay chattering: Check setpoint configuration in System 1. After a card swap, setpoints do NOT automatically reload from the rack — you must push the configuration from System 1 to the new card explicitly. This is the #1 cause of post-replacement trips.

Replacement Procedure — Critical Steps:

  • Power down the rack slot via the inhibit function in System 1 before extracting the card. Do not hot-swap without inhibiting — the relay outputs will de-energize and may trip the machine.
  • Note the card’s slot address before removal. The 3500/50E uses slot-based addressing; inserting into the wrong slot will cause a rack configuration fault.
  • After insertion, allow 90 seconds for the card to complete its self-test sequence before re-enabling in System 1.
  • Push the full channel configuration from System 1 to the card. Verify setpoints, full-scale RPM, and transducer type match the original configuration exactly.
  • Perform a slow-roll check before returning the machine to service — confirm both channels are reading within 2 RPM of each other at low speed.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 3500/50E was designed for the environments where machinery protection matters most — not climate-controlled server rooms, but turbine decks, compressor buildings, and offshore platforms where the air smells like hydrocarbon and the ambient temperature swings 40°C between day and night.

The module’s conformal-coated PCB resists condensation and airborne contaminants common in coastal and offshore installations. Vibration isolation is handled at the rack level via the 3500 chassis mounting system, but the card’s internal component mounting is rated to withstand the shock and vibration profiles defined in IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27 — the same standards applied to avionics and heavy industrial instrumentation.

Thermal management is passive — no fans, no moving parts inside the card. The operating range of 0°C to +65°C covers the vast majority of industrial enclosure environments, even in tropical climates without air conditioning. Units stored in our Xiamen warehouse are kept in controlled humidity conditions (RH < 60%) with anti-static packaging to preserve long-term reliability of the CMOS-based signal conditioning circuits.

Every unit we ship has been visually inspected for PCB delamination, connector corrosion, and component integrity. We do not sell modules with visible signs of thermal stress, arc damage, or moisture ingress — those go in the bin, not in a box.

Global Express Logistics

Our warehouse is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province — one of China’s primary export hubs with direct access to Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN) and daily DHL/FedEx flight connections to major global hubs.

Standard Express Timeline (DHL / FedEx International Priority):

  • USA / Canada: 3–5 business days door-to-door
  • Europe (DE, NL, UK, FR): 3–5 business days
  • Middle East (UAE, SA, KW): 3–4 business days
  • Southeast Asia (SG, MY, TH): 2–3 business days
  • Australia / New Zealand: 4–6 business days

Order cutoff for same-day dispatch is 18:00 CST (UTC+8). Orders confirmed with payment before cutoff ship the same calendar day. You receive a tracking number within 2 hours of dispatch. We provide a commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin as standard — all documents formatted for customs clearance without delays.
