Common Failure Signatures:

• HARDWARE FAULT LED solid red — internal ASIC or output driver failure. Module is non-recoverable. Replace immediately.
• Nodebus communication loss (CP logs FBM242 offline) — check backplane connector pins first. If pins are clean and seated, the module’s Nodebus transceiver has failed. Swap the module.
• Intermittent output channel dropout (1–4 channels cycling) — typically a failing output DAC or relay driver. Often triggered by capacitor degradation in high-humidity environments. Don’t waste time on channel-level diagnostics — replace the whole module.
