MR-J3-200AN Down? Every Minute of Downtime Costs You Money — We Ship Today
Your servo amplifier just tripped. The line is stopped. Maintenance is on the phone. You already know the MR-J3-200AN is the culprit — you’ve seen this failure before. What you need right now is not a datasheet lecture. You need a confirmed-in-stock, tested unit on a plane to your facility before end of business.
We stock the Mitsubishi MR-J3-200AN at our Xiamen warehouse. Orders confirmed before 14:00 CST ship same day via DHL Express or FedEx International Priority. Most destinations in Southeast Asia receive within 48 hours. Europe and North America within 72–96 hours. That’s the difference between a two-day outage and a two-week procurement nightmare.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
After ten years of field work on MELSERVO-J3 systems, these are the failure patterns that actually send engineers scrambling for a replacement unit:
AL.32 — Overcurrent: The most common hard-failure alarm on the MR-J3-200AN. Before swapping the amplifier, verify the motor winding resistance (U-V, V-W, W-U should be balanced within 5%). A shorted motor will destroy a new amplifier within seconds of power-on. Also check the IPM module on the old drive — if the gate driver board is scorched, the fault originated in the amplifier, not the motor.
AL.16 — Encoder Error: Usually a cable issue, not a drive failure. Check the encoder connector at the motor end first — J3 series uses a 20-pin MDR connector that corrodes in humid environments. If the cable checks out and the alarm persists after power cycle, the encoder reception circuit on the amplifier has failed. Replace the drive.
AL.50 — Overload: Sustained overload trips indicate either a mechanical binding issue (check the load coupling and bearing condition) or incorrect gain settings causing oscillation. Before condemning the amplifier, connect MR Configurator2 and review the load inertia ratio — if it’s above 30:1, the machine mechanics need attention regardless of which amplifier you install.
Replacement Configuration Checklist:
- Back up all parameters from the old drive via MR Configurator2 before removal if the drive still powers up. Parameter group PA, PB, PC, PD must be restored exactly.
- The MR-J3-200AN uses analog/pulse-train command input — confirm your controller outputs ±10V analog or differential pulse signals. Do not confuse with MR-J3-200B (SSCNET III only).
- Absolute encoder battery: if the replacement drive is new, the absolute position will be lost. Perform a home position return (ZRN) before resuming production.
- Regenerative resistor: if the original installation used an external MR-RB resistor, reconnect it to the P/C terminals on the new drive. Omitting it on high-inertia loads will trigger AL.30 within minutes.
- CN1 connector pinout is identical across MR-J3-200A and MR-J3-200AN — direct cable transfer is safe.
- After installation, run the auto-tuning sequence (PA08 = 0001) with the actual load connected before switching to production mode.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The MELSERVO-J3 platform was engineered for industrial environments that would kill consumer-grade electronics in weeks. The MR-J3-200AN’s internal architecture reflects this: the power stage uses IGBT modules rated for junction temperatures up to 150 °C, with thermal derating curves that allow continuous operation at 55 °C ambient without forced cooling — a critical advantage in poorly ventilated control cabinets in tropical manufacturing facilities.
Vibration resistance is validated to IEC 60068-2-6: 10–57 Hz at 0.075 mm displacement, 57–150 Hz at 9.8 m/s². In practice, this means the drive survives being mounted on the same panel as large contactors and pneumatic actuators without developing solder joint fatigue over a multi-year service life.
Humidity tolerance up to 90% RH (non-condensing) covers the majority of coastal and tropical factory environments. The conformal coating on the control PCB provides an additional barrier against airborne contaminants — metallic dust, cutting fluid mist, and flux residue — that are endemic in machining and fabrication environments.
Units supplied from our Xiamen stock are stored in climate-controlled conditions (18–25 °C, 40–60% RH) in anti-static packaging. Each unit undergoes a power-on functional test and encoder communication verification before dispatch. We do not ship units that have been stored in uncontrolled warehouse conditions.
