Product Overview

102044-00-48-10-05 In Stock — Every Hour of Downtime Costs You More Than This Module

A tripped vibration channel at 02:00. A compressor offline. Your maintenance window closing fast. The Bently Nevada 102044-00-48-10-05 is a 48-inch, 8mm eddy current proximity probe from the 3300 XL Proximity Transducer System — and when it fails, the entire shaft monitoring loop goes blind. We stock this probe in Xiamen and ship same-day via DHL Express or FedEx International Priority. While your procurement team is still drafting the RFQ, we can have this unit at your door.

Troubleshooting and Replacement Tips

Field experience with the 3300 XL system surfaces the same failure patterns repeatedly. Before condemning the probe, work through this sequence.

1. Confirm gap voltage first. With the system powered, measure DC output at the driver output terminal. The 102044-00-48-10-05 should read between -10 VDC and -18 VDC at normal operating gap (typically 50 mil / 1.27 mm). A reading of -24 VDC (rail) means the probe tip is open-circuit or the gap is too large. A reading near 0 VDC means a short — check the cable jacket for crush damage at the conduit entry point, which is the single most common physical failure on this cable length.

2. Extension cable matching. The -48 suffix encodes 48-inch probe cable. Your extension cable must be ordered to match: total system cable length (probe plus extension) must equal the driver calibrated range. Mismatched extension cables shift the sensitivity curve and produce false vibration readings without triggering any fault code. Always verify the extension cable part number against the driver calibration certificate before swapping the probe.

3. Driver recalibration after probe swap. The 3300 XL Proximitor driver is factory-calibrated as a matched set with the probe and extension cable. When you replace only the probe, the system will function but sensitivity may drift up to 5% from nominal. For API 670-compliant installations, a field calibration check using a precision gap block is mandatory after any probe replacement. Do not skip this step on turbine or compressor protection loops.

4. Fault codes on the 3500 rack. If this probe feeds a Bently Nevada 3500/40M or 3500/42M monitor card, a probe failure typically presents as a Not OK (NOK) status on the channel LED, with the monitor card logging a Transducer Fault event. Check the channel OK setpoint — if the gap voltage falls outside the configured OK band, the channel latches NOK and the relay trips. Clearing the latch requires correcting the gap and issuing a reset from the rack keypad or via System 1 software.

5. Thread engagement on the probe holder. The 102044-00-48-10-05 uses a 3/8-24 UNF thread. On high-vibration machines, probe holders work loose over time. Torque the locknut to 20 to 25 in-lb and apply thread-locking compound rated for the operating temperature. A loose probe produces a characteristic low-frequency modulation on the vibration spectrum that is often misdiagnosed as a bearing defect.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 3300 XL probe body is constructed from 316 stainless steel with a PEEK tip insert — a material combination chosen for chemical resistance in oil-wetted environments and dimensional stability across the full operating temperature range. The armored cable on the 102044-00-48-10-05 uses a stainless steel braid over a PTFE-insulated coaxial core, providing crush resistance in conduit runs and immunity to hydrocarbon vapors present in compressor seal areas.

Vibration immunity of the probe body exceeds 20 g RMS across 10 to 2000 Hz — the probe does not self-generate signal artifacts under the mechanical excitation levels found on gas turbine bearing housings. The coaxial connector is sealed to IP67 when mated with the extension cable connector, preventing moisture ingress in wash-down or outdoor installations. Units stored in our Xiamen warehouse are maintained in climate-controlled conditions at 20 to 25 C and 40 to 60% RH, with individual anti-static packaging to protect the cable dielectric from electrostatic stress during storage.
