Product Overview

330101-00-12-20-12-CN: Stop the Clock on Your Downtime — Ship Today from Xiamen

Every hour a turbine or compressor sits idle costs real money. If you’re here, you already know that. The Bently Nevada 330101-00-12-20-12-CN 8 mm eddy-current proximity transducer is on our shelf right now — not on a 6-week lead time, not on backorder. We pull, test, pack, and hand it to DHL or FedEx the same business day you confirm. That’s the only promise that matters when your plant manager is standing behind you.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

After ten years of field calls, the same failure patterns show up again and again with the 3300 XL probe loop. Here is what to check before you even open the junction box.

No Output / Monitor Shows Not OK: Nine times out of ten this is a broken cable at the probe body — not the probe tip. The integral 1.0 m cable on the 330101-00-12-20-12-CN is the most mechanically stressed point in the loop. Flex-fatigue cracks develop at the cable exit gland, especially on machines with high-frequency casing vibration. Pull the probe, flex the cable near the body, and watch your DC output on a multimeter. If it flickers, the probe is done.

Gap Voltage Out of Range: Before condemning the probe, verify your air gap. The 8 mm probe requires a nominal gap of 1.0 mm to 1.5 mm to the target shaft. Use a feeler gauge. If gap is correct and gap voltage is still off, check the Proximitor sensor — the 330101 series probe is passive; the Proximitor does the signal conditioning. A failed Proximitor will mimic a failed probe every time.

Replacement Procedure — Key Steps:

  • De-energize the monitor channel before disconnecting the probe. The 3300 XL Proximitor is powered continuously; hot-swapping the probe connector can spike the input and trigger a false alarm or damage the Proximitor input stage.
  • Record the existing gap voltage before removal. This gives you a baseline to set the replacement probe gap without a full recalibration cycle.
  • The 330101-00-12-20-12-CN is a direct drop-in for any 3300 XL 8 mm standard-cable installation. No DIP switch settings, no address configuration — the 3300 XL system is not self-addressing at the probe level. Configuration lives in the monitor, not the transducer.
  • After installation, verify gap voltage is within −10 V ± 0.5 V at your target gap. If the monitor is a 3500/42M, confirm channel sensitivity is set to 200 mV/mil in the rack configuration software — this matches the 330101 series output exactly.
  • Run a static calibration check: move the probe tip through its linear range with a calibrated target and confirm the output tracks at 7.87 V/mm. Any deviation greater than ±2% indicates a wiring issue or a mismatched Proximitor.

Critical Mismatch Warning: Do not pair this probe with a 5 mm Proximitor. The 8 mm and 5 mm probe systems use different sensitivity curves and the monitor will report incorrect vibration amplitudes. The Proximitor label will state 8 mm — confirm before closing the junction box.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 330101-00-12-20-12-CN was not designed for a clean lab. It was designed for the inside of a turbine enclosure where ambient temperatures swing from cold startup to 121 °C continuous, where condensation forms on every cool-down cycle, and where casing vibration never fully stops. The eddy-current sensing principle is inherently non-contact — there is no mechanical wear mechanism. The probe tip does not touch the shaft. Failure modes are limited to cable degradation, connector corrosion, and impact damage from maintenance activity — all of which are visible on inspection.

The probe body is machined from stainless steel with a threaded nose for secure locknut installation. The cable jacket handles continuous exposure to lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, and the mild chemical wash-downs common in petrochemical environments. Bently Nevada’s 3300 XL series has accumulated decades of field hours on gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and large induction motors across every major industrial sector. The design has not changed because it does not need to.

Units shipped from our Xiamen warehouse are stored in climate-controlled conditions and individually bagged with desiccant. We do not pull probes from long-term shelf stock without a pre-ship functional check. If a unit does not produce the correct output on our bench, it does not go in a box.

Global Express Logistics

Our dispatch hub is in Xiamen, China — one of the most connected export ports on the eastern seaboard, with daily DHL Express and FedEx International Priority consolidations. Here is exactly what happens after you confirm your order:

  • Same-day cutoff: 15:00 CST. Orders confirmed before 15:00 Xiamen time are picked, functionally checked, and packed the same afternoon.
  • Export documentation: Commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin are prepared in parallel with packing. HS Code 9031.80 is pre-declared. No customs delays from missing paperwork.
  • Carrier selection: DHL Express Worldwide for most destinations. FedEx International Priority for US and Canada when transit time is critical. We select the faster option at no extra charge for urgent orders.
  • Transit times (typical): Southeast Asia 2–3 days, Middle East 3–4 days, Europe 4–5 days, Americas 5–7 days. Door-to-door under normal customs clearance.
  • Tracking: AWB number sent to your email within 2 hours of carrier pickup. We monitor shipments actively and flag any customs holds proactively.
  • Bulk orders: For 5+ units or mixed-part orders, contact us for a consolidated shipment quote. We combine multiple line items into a single DHL skid to reduce per-unit freight cost significantly.

We have shipped to refineries in Saudi Arabia, power plants in Vietnam, paper mills in Germany, and mining operations in Chile. The logistics process is the same every time because we built it to be repeatable under pressure.
