Product Overview

330104-00-10-05-01-BR: Cut Downtime Now — Ship Today from Xiamen

Every hour your turbine or compressor sits idle, the losses compound. A failed proximity probe shouldn’t be the reason your plant bleeds money. The Bently Nevada 330104-00-10-05-01-BR — an 8mm eddy-current proximity probe from the 3300 XL Proximity Transducer System — is on our shelf right now. We pull, pack, and hand it to DHL or FedEx the same day you confirm. That’s the only promise that matters when your maintenance window is closing fast.

This is not a grey-market substitute or a relabeled clone. Every unit we ship is genuine Bently Nevada OEM stock, traceable to verified supply channels. Our team has handled emergency replacements for petrochemical plants, power stations, and offshore platforms across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. We know what’s at stake when a 3300 XL system throws a Not OK status at 2 AM.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Field experience with the 3300 XL system reveals a consistent set of failure modes and installation pitfalls. Work through these before you condemn the probe or the Proximitor:

1. Confirm the actual fault source before ordering. A 3300 XL Not OK alarm can originate from the probe, the extension cable, or the Proximitor sensor — not always the probe itself. Disconnect the extension cable at the Proximitor and measure DC bias voltage directly at the probe integral cable output. You should read between −10 VDC and −18 VDC into a 1 MΩ load. A reading outside this range with a known-good Proximitor confirms probe failure. A reading within range points to the extension cable or Proximitor.

2. Gap setting is non-negotiable. The 330104-00-10-05-01-BR operates correctly only when the probe tip-to-target gap is set within the linear range: 1.0 mm ± 0.25 mm (40 mil ± 10 mil) is the standard installation gap for most shaft applications. Use a calibrated gap tool or a digital micrometer. Do not rely on torque feel alone — a 0.1 mm error at installation translates directly to a DC bias shift that can trigger false alarms or mask real vibration events.

3. Cable routing and grounding. The BR (Belden) armored jacket on this probe is designed for EMI-dense environments, but it is not a substitute for proper grounding practice. Ground the cable armor at one end only — typically at the junction box or monitor end — to avoid ground loops that inject 50/60 Hz noise into the vibration signal. If you see a clean DC bias but elevated AC noise floor on the monitor, a ground loop is the first suspect.

4. Proximitor firmware and probe matching. The 3300 XL Proximitor sensors are factory-calibrated for specific probe diameters. Confirm the installed Proximitor (330180 or 330181) is the 8mm variant. Mixing an 8mm probe with a 5mm Proximitor will produce a shifted sensitivity curve — the system will appear functional but vibration readings will be systematically wrong. Check the Proximitor label before closing the junction box.

5. Common fault codes on 3500 monitors. If the 330104-00-10-05-01-BR feeds into a Bently Nevada 3500/42 monitor, a Channel Not OK with a gap voltage reading of 0 VDC typically indicates an open circuit in the probe or cable. A gap voltage of −24 VDC (rail) indicates a short to the shield or a probe tip in contact with the target. Both conditions require physical inspection before assuming the probe is defective.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 3300 XL probe family was not designed for laboratory conditions. The 330104-00-10-05-01-BR is built to survive the environments where rotating machinery actually operates — and where failures are most expensive.

The probe body is constructed from 316 stainless steel with a PEEK (polyether ether ketone) tip insert, providing resistance to hydrocarbon condensate, steam, and aggressive cleaning agents. The BR cable jacket combines a Belden braided armor layer over a fluoropolymer-insulated coaxial core, rated for continuous flexing in high-vibration installations. In field installations on gas compressor trains, we have seen these cables outlast the machinery they monitor.

Thermal performance is a genuine differentiator. The probe tip rating of +177°C covers the majority of steam turbine bearing housings and high-temperature compressor applications without derating. At the cold end, −35°C operation is verified — relevant for outdoor installations in northern climates or LNG facilities where ambient temperatures drop well below freezing during winter shutdowns.

Vibration immunity is built into the probe mounting design. The standard 3300 XL probe uses a threaded body with a locknut, allowing the installer to set gap and then mechanically lock the probe against vibration-induced drift. In high-vibration applications (compressor frames, reciprocating machinery), we recommend applying thread-locking compound to the locknut threads after final gap verification.

Global Express Logistics

Our dispatch hub is in Xiamen, China — a major international freight gateway with direct DHL and FedEx connections to every major industrial region. Here is how a typical emergency order moves:

Day 0 (Order Confirmed): Payment confirmed before 15:00 CST triggers same-day pick, pack, and handoff to the carrier. Export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin — is prepared in parallel. No waiting for paperwork.

Day 1–2 (In Transit): DHL Express or FedEx International Priority departs Xiamen. Tracking number is sent to you within 2 hours of carrier pickup. For destinations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, transit time is typically 2–4 business days. North America runs 3–5 business days depending on customs clearance speed.

Customs Clearance: We declare all shipments accurately under the correct HS code for proximity probes (HS 9031.80). Commercial invoices are prepared to meet the import requirements of the destination country. For customers in the EU, we can provide EORI-compatible documentation. For customers in the Middle East, we provide Arabic-language packing lists on request.

Packaging: The 330104-00-10-05-01-BR ships in its original Bently Nevada packaging where available, or in anti-static foam-lined cartons with cable coiled to the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. The probe tip is protected with a machined plastic cap. No probe arrives with a bent tip or kinked cable — we check every unit before sealing the box.
