Product Overview

330903-00-02-10-02-00 — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime

Every hour your turbine, compressor, or pump sits idle, the losses compound. A failed proximity probe shouldn’t be the reason your production line stays dark for three days while you chase lead times. The Bently Nevada 330903-00-02-10-02-00 NSv eddy-current proximity probe is on our shelf in Xiamen right now — inspected, verified, and ready to clear customs today. We’ve shipped this exact part number to refineries in the Middle East, power plants in Southeast Asia, and compressor stations in Europe. The process is the same every time: you call, we ship, your machine runs.

This is not a catalog listing. This is a live inventory position. If you’re reading this at 2 AM because your DCS just threw a Probe Not OK alarm and your on-call engineer is staring at a dead sensor, this is the page you needed to find.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

After ten years of field work, the same failure patterns show up again and again with NSv probes. Here’s what to check before you pull the trigger on a replacement — and what to watch for when you install the new one.

Common fault codes and what they actually mean:

  • Probe Not OK / -24V rail sag: Nine times out of ten this is a cable fault, not the probe tip itself. Before condemning the probe, measure DC output at the Proximitor® terminal. If you’re reading above -1 VDC or below -21 VDC with the probe in free air, the cable has an open or short. Flex the cable near the connector — if the reading jumps, you’ve found your break point.
  • High 1X vibration spike after probe swap: Gap voltage is off. The 330903 series requires a nominal gap of 1.0 mm, which should read -10 VDC ±0.5 V at the Proximitor® output. Use a non-magnetic feeler gauge. Do not trust the mechanical stop on the probe holder — thermal expansion shifts it.
  • Intermittent OK/Not OK cycling: Check the MIL-C-5015 connector backshell. Moisture ingress at the junction box is the most common cause. Clean with contact cleaner, re-torque the backshell to 2.5 N·m, and apply self-amalgamating tape if the installation is exposed to wash-down or steam.
  • Probe reads OK but vibration trend is flat/dead: The Proximitor® sensor may have failed, not the probe. Swap the Proximitor® first — it’s faster to access in most installations. If the trend comes back, the probe was fine all along.

Replacement procedure — field checklist:

  • De-energize the Proximitor® supply rail before disconnecting the probe. Hot-swapping can spike the monitor card input.
  • Record the existing gap voltage before removal. This is your baseline for the new probe installation.
  • Clean the probe bore with a lint-free cloth. Any metallic debris on the tip will corrupt the eddy-current field and produce false readings.
  • Thread the new probe in by hand until tip contact, then back out to achieve -10 VDC ±0.5 V gap voltage. Lock the jam nut to 15 N·m. Do not use thread sealant — it changes the dielectric constant and shifts calibration.
  • Verify the 3300 XL monitor card shows a healthy channel status before returning the machine to service. Check both the OK relay and the vibration trend for at least 5 minutes at operating speed.
  • If the system uses System 1® Evolution, force a configuration download after probe replacement to clear any latched diagnostic flags.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 330903-00-02-10-02-00 is built for environments that destroy lesser sensors. The 316 stainless steel housing is rated for continuous immersion in H₂S-bearing process gas, high-pressure oil mist, and steam atmospheres. The hermetically sealed probe tip prevents moisture from reaching the coil assembly — the single most common failure mode in cheaper eddy-current probes operating in wet gas applications.

Vibration resistance is not a marketing claim here. These probes are installed directly on rotating machinery bearing housings, where broadband vibration levels routinely exceed 10 g RMS. The cable strain relief and connector backshell are designed to survive millions of flex cycles without conductor fatigue. In high-temperature installations — exhaust-end turbine bearings, for example — the probe body maintains calibration accuracy up to 177°C without drift correction.

For offshore and coastal installations, the stainless housing resists salt-spray corrosion per IEC 60068-2-52. ATEX and IECEx certifications cover Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous area installations, making this probe suitable for gas turbine enclosures and compressor buildings without additional barriers in most configurations. Confirm your specific zone classification and T-class with your safety engineer before installation.

Global Express Logistics

Our warehouse is in Xiamen, Fujian — one of China’s primary export hubs with direct access to DHL, FedEx, and UPS international gateways. For urgent orders confirmed before 3 PM CST, same-day dispatch is standard. Here’s how the process works:

  • Order confirmation: You send your PO or written order to [email protected]. We confirm stock, issue a proforma invoice, and begin packing within the hour.
  • Export documentation: We handle the commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin. For ATEX-certified parts, we include the EU Declaration of Conformity in the shipment documentation.
  • Carrier selection: DHL Express is our default for most destinations — typically 2–4 business days to Europe, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. FedEx International Priority is available for US-bound shipments. For extremely time-critical situations, we can arrange charter courier on request.
  • Customs clearance: We pre-classify all shipments with the correct HS code (8543.70 for electronic sensors) and declare accurate values to avoid customs holds. We can provide an end-use certificate if your country requires one for industrial automation components.
  • Tracking: A tracking number is sent to your email within 2 hours of dispatch. We monitor the shipment and proactively contact you if any customs delay is detected.

We have shipped to over 40 countries. Downtime doesn’t wait for business hours, and neither do we.
