Product Overview

330906-02-12-70-02-00 — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime

Every minute a turbine or compressor sits idle costs real money. If you’re reading this, you already know that. The Bently Nevada 330906-02-12-70-02-00 is a complete 8mm eddy-current proximity transducer system — probe, extension cable, and 3300 XL Proximitor® driver — and we have it on the shelf in Xiamen right now. No lead-time negotiation, no factory backorder queue. You call, we ship.

This is not a grey-market substitute. Every unit we dispatch is sourced through verified channels, inspected against OEM calibration specs, and shipped with documentation. When your machinery protection system throws a Not OK alarm and the plant manager is standing behind you, the last thing you need is a counterfeit sensor that passes bench test and fails at speed.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Ten years of field calls have taught me that 80% of 330906 failures fall into three buckets. Work through these before you condemn the transducer system:

1. Gap voltage out of range (most common)
The 3300 XL Proximitor outputs –1 to –11 VDC. If you’re reading outside that window, check the physical gap first. Nominal gap for an 8mm probe is 1.0–1.5 mm (roughly 40–60 mil). A shaft that has walked axially or a probe that has backed out of its bracket will throw the gap voltage immediately. Use a calibrated gap tool or a feeler gauge — don’t eyeball it.

2. Not OK (N/OK) LED on the Proximitor driver
This trips when the gap is outside the linear range OR when the cable circuit is open/shorted. Disconnect the extension cable at the Proximitor end and measure resistance: probe + integral cable should read approximately 8–12 Ω. An open circuit means a broken conductor in the extension cable — the most common physical failure point after years of vibration fatigue. The extension cable on the -70- suffix is 7 m; if it runs through a conduit with tight bends, that’s your suspect.

3. Noisy or erratic vibration signal
Before swapping the transducer, check the Proximitor power supply. The –24 VDC rail must be clean — ripple above 50 mV peak-to-peak will inject noise directly into the output. Also verify the shield drain wire is grounded at one end only (typically the monitor end). Double-grounding the shield creates a ground loop that looks exactly like low-frequency vibration on the trend plot.

Replacement procedure checklist:

  • De-energize the –24 VDC supply to the Proximitor before disconnecting cables.
  • Record the existing gap voltage before removal — it tells you the probe was seated correctly and gives you a baseline for the new unit.
  • Install the new probe, set gap to 1.0–1.5 mm, torque the locknut to spec (typically 20–25 N·m for 8mm probes — confirm with your bracket drawing).
  • Reconnect extension cable and Proximitor. Power up and verify gap voltage is within –7 to –9 VDC at nominal gap.
  • Check the 3300/3500 monitor for any latched alarms and reset after confirming OK status.
  • No firmware flashing required — the 330906 system is purely analog. The Proximitor has no addressable configuration; sensitivity and range are fixed at manufacture.
  • If replacing into a 3500 Series monitor, confirm the I/O module (3500/42M or 3500/40M) is configured for 8mm eddy-current input in the rack configuration software.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 330906 probe body is machined from 316 stainless steel with a PEEK tip — it was designed for the inside of a steam turbine bearing housing, not a lab bench. The integral cable uses a fluoropolymer jacket rated to +121°C continuous, which means it survives the radiant heat that kills standard PVC-jacketed sensors within months.

Vibration endurance is not a marketing claim here. The probe assembly is qualified to withstand 20g sinusoidal vibration across 10–2,000 Hz per MIL-STD-810. In practice, we’ve seen these units outlast the machinery they monitor in paper mills, offshore platforms, and petrochemical plants where ambient humidity runs at 95% non-condensing year-round.

The Proximitor driver enclosure is IP66-rated. Dust ingress is not a concern. Moisture ingress from pressure-wash-down operations is not a concern. What does matter is the conduit seal at the driver housing entry — if that seal has degraded, condensation will wick into the connector and corrode the pins. Inspect it during every planned maintenance window.

ATEX and FM certifications cover Zone 1/2 and Class I Division 1/2 respectively, making this system deployable in hydrogen-rich or hydrocarbon-laden atmospheres without additional barriers in most configurations. Always verify the specific suffix codes against your area classification documentation before installation in a hazardous area.

Global Express Logistics

Our dispatch hub is in Xiamen, Fujian — one of China’s primary export ports with direct DHL and FedEx gateway access. Here’s what the timeline looks like from the moment you confirm your order:

  • Same-day dispatch: Orders confirmed before 14:00 CST ship the same business day. No exceptions, no excuses.
  • DHL Express Worldwide: Xiamen → most European and North American destinations in 2–4 business days. We use DHL’s industrial parts routing to avoid customs holds that plague general cargo.
  • FedEx International Priority: Available as an alternative for destinations where FedEx has stronger last-mile coverage (Southeast Asia, Middle East, parts of South America).
  • Export documentation: Commercial invoice, packing list, and HS code 9031.80 pre-declared. For ATEX-certified units, we include the EU Declaration of Conformity in the shipment package.
  • Tracking: AWB number sent within 2 hours of dispatch. We monitor the shipment and proactively flag any customs delays to you — you don’t have to chase us.
  • Emergency freight: For genuine plant-down situations, we can arrange next-flight-out courier on request. Contact us directly on WhatsApp for real-time coordination.

We’ve shipped to refineries in Rotterdam, power stations in Mumbai, and LNG terminals in Qatar. The logistics process is not new to us.
