Product Overview

330910-00-19-05-01-00 — Your Line Is Down. We Ship Today.

A tripped machinery protection system doesn’t wait for procurement cycles. When your 3500 rack throws a Not-OK on the radial vibration channel and the proximitor output is pinned at –24 VDC, you already know what’s failed. The Bently Nevada 330910-00-19-05-01-00 — an 8 mm eddy-current proximity transducer system with 5-metre extension cable and 3300 XL driver — is one of the highest-turnover replacement parts in API 670-compliant turbomachinery protection. We stock it in Xiamen. We dispatch same day. The rest is logistics.

Production losses on a mid-size gas compressor train run USD 15,000–80,000 per day depending on your contract and commodity. A verified replacement unit on a DHL flight tonight costs a fraction of that. This page exists to get you the right part, configured correctly, without a single wasted hour.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Ten years of field calls on 3300 XL systems produce a short list of mistakes that repeat. Here’s what actually matters when you’re standing in front of the rack at midnight:

Step 1 — Isolate the fault before pulling hardware.
Measure the proximitor driver output at the 3500 monitor card terminal. Nominal gap (1.0 mm / 40 mil to AISI 4140) should read –10.0 VDC ± 0.5 VDC. Pinned at –24 VDC means open circuit — probe tip fracture or cable break. Pinned at 0 VDC means short — insulation failure or connector moisture. If the output is noisy but in range, suspect a loose MIL-C-5015 connector before condemning the transducer.

Step 2 — Decode the part number before ordering.
330910 – 00 – 19 – 05 – 01 – 00: probe type / probe length code / cable length (19 ≈ 5.8 m) / driver type / connector code / option code. A cable length mismatch shifts the system’s total inductance and corrupts the calibration curve. Your gap readings will be wrong even if the hardware physically fits. Match the label exactly.

Step 3 — Set the gap. Every time. No exceptions.
Thread depth from the previous probe is not a valid reference. Probe tip wear, housing thread condition, and manufacturing tolerances all vary. After mounting, use the driver output voltage to set gap: target –10.0 VDC ± 0.5 VDC at nominal gap before tightening the locknut. A feeler gauge cross-check at 1.0 mm (40 mil) confirms the reading.

Step 4 — Replace the system, not just the probe.
The probe, extension cable, and driver are a matched, calibrated set. Mixing serial batches introduces sensitivity errors that won’t show up on a continuity check but will produce amplitude errors under operating conditions. If the cable jacket shows cracking, kinking near connectors, or any sign of moisture ingress at the armor termination, the entire system goes — not just the probe.

Common 3500 rack fault indicators for this transducer:

  • OK LED off, Not-OK relay energized: Gap out of linear range, open circuit, or –24 VDC supply loss. Check power first.
  • Output stuck at –24 VDC: Open circuit. Probe tip broken or cable severed. Replace system.
  • Output stuck at 0 VDC: Short circuit. Cable insulation failure or connector flooding.
  • Intermittent spikes uncorrelated to 1X/2X: Loose MIL-C-5015 connector. Re-torque: finger-tight plus quarter-turn with strap wrench.
  • Slow gap drift over weeks: Probe tip erosion from a prior rub event. Inspect shaft surface for witness marks before installing the replacement — a damaged shaft will destroy the new probe.

Target material correction — mandatory for non-standard shafts.
The factory calibration is valid for AISI 4140 steel only. 316 stainless, Inconel, titanium, and duplex alloys all require a correction factor per Bently Nevada Application Note 141-108-P1. Skipping this step on a non-ferrous shaft can cause the protection system to under-read actual vibration amplitude by 20–40% — a safety-critical error that will not trigger an alarm until the machine is already damaged.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 3300 XL was not engineered for a lab bench. It was built for the inside of a gas turbine enclosure in a 45°C desert ambient, a compressor train on a floating production platform, and a steam turbine hall where process upsets send vibration levels from baseline to trip in under three seconds.

The probe body is 316 stainless steel with a PEEK tip — resistant to hydrocarbon condensate, lube oil mist, H₂S atmospheres, and the cleaning solvents used during outage maintenance. The extension cable uses double-shielded, armor-jacketed construction that maintains signal integrity in high-EMI environments: VFD cabinets, large induction motors, and MV switchgear running parallel to instrument cable trays. The MIL-C-5015 connector provides IP67 ingress protection when properly mated and torqued — not finger-tight, torqued.

Vibration qualification covers IEC 60068-2-6 (sinusoidal sweep) and IEC 60068-2-64 (random broadband), across the frequency ranges generated by the rotating machinery these sensors protect. Driver electronics are fully potted. Units in our Xiamen warehouse are stored at controlled humidity (RH < 60%) with desiccant packaging and individual inspection before dispatch — not bulk-stored in open racks.

Pre-shipment inspection covers: connector pin condition and seating depth, cable jacket integrity along the full run, probe tip surface (no chips, cracks, or contamination), and driver housing seal. Any unit showing evidence of prior field use, connector corrosion, or cable repair does not ship.
