Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

1. F8022 / F8023 — Overcurrent / Short Circuit in Power Stage

3. E8025 — Motor Encoder Fault / Feedback Loss
Clean the encoder connector at X8 with IPA. Check for bent pins. If the fault clears momentarily and returns, the encoder cable shield is broken — common on machines with tight cable tracks. If the fault is hard and immediate, the encoder itself or the HDS feedback receiver circuit has failed.
4. F8079 — Drive Temperature Overtemperature
The internal fan on the HDS03.2 is a known wear item. On first power-up of a replacement unit, listen for fan spin-up within 3 seconds. If silent, the fan has seized — do not run the drive. Also verify cabinet ambient is below 40 °C and that the drive’s 100 mm clearance zones are unobstructed.

- Execute a reference cycle (homing) before returning the axis to automatic mode.
DIP switch / address note: The HDS03.2 uses rotary address switches on the front panel to set the SERCOS node address (typically 1–8 for multi-axis systems). Mismatch = F2026 communication fault on the CNC. Always match the address of the failed unit before energizing.
