How to confirm SDCS-POW-1 failure before ordering: The most reliable symptom is a drive that powers up the main contactor but shows a blank or frozen panel — no fault code, no response. Check the 24 V rail on the SDCS-POW-1 output connector with a multimeter. If you’re reading below 21 V or seeing ripple above 500 mV, the board is failing. Common fault codes that trace back to this board include F507 (Internal Supply Fault), F508 (SDCS-POW Undervoltage), and intermittent A501 alarms that clear on power cycle but return within minutes.

Step-by-step replacement procedure:

1. Isolate the drive fully — open the main breaker, lock out, and wait a minimum of 5 minutes for the DC bus capacitors to discharge below 50 V. Verify with a CAT III meter before touching anything inside the cabinet.

2. Document your current parameter set. Connect DriveWindow or use the CDP panel to upload a full parameter backup to a laptop or USB. The SDCS-POW-1 swap itself does not erase parameters stored on the SDCS-CON-4 control board, but if the CON-4 has also been damaged by the power fault, you’ll need that backup.
