Fault Code 7081 / 7082 — Fieldbus Communication Loss
This is the most common trigger for a BAMU-01C replacement call. The drive loses cyclic data from the Modbus master and trips on communication timeout. Before condemning the board, check: (1) RS-485 termination resistor — 120 Ω must be present at both ends of the bus; (2) cable shield grounding — one-end grounding only, at the panel; (3) baud rate mismatch between PLC and drive parameter 58.01. Replacement Procedure — Step by Step

  1. De-energize the drive fully. Wait for the DC bus voltage indicator to extinguish (minimum 5 minutes on ACS880 frames R5 and above).

  • Parameter 51.27: Refresh — always execute after any FBA parameter change. Without this, changes do not take effect.
