21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime. Ship Today.
Your turbomachinery is offline. The 3300 XL proximity monitoring chain is broken. Every hour that compressor or turbine sits idle is burning through your maintenance budget and your production schedule. The Bently Nevada 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 Proximity Probe Housing Assembly is the exact OEM-spec component you need to restore vibration monitoring integrity and get your machine back online — and we have it ready to ship from Xiamen right now.
This is not a generic substitute. The 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 is a factory-configuration housing assembly built specifically for the Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximity Transducer System — the de facto standard for API 670-compliant turbomachinery protection in power generation, oil & gas, and petrochemical plants worldwide. The 16 mm probe diameter, 5 m cable, 085 mounting thread, and 03-series connector are not interchangeable parameters. Get the wrong configuration and you are back to square one. Get this one and you are back in production.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
The three failure modes that bring you here:
1. Gap voltage out of range (OK LED off, -18 V or worse, -24 V rail). Before you condemn the housing, check the Proximitor output first. If the Proximitor is outputting a valid -18 VDC to -24 VDC supply and the gap voltage is still reading outside the -10 V ± 0.5 V window, the probe tip is the culprit — not the housing. But if the housing threads are stripped or the probe is physically displaced, the gap cannot be set correctly regardless of what the Proximitor does. Replace the housing, re-install the probe, and re-gap to the target voltage specified on your system drawing (typically -10.0 VDC ± 0.5 V for 16 mm probes on a 3300 XL system).
2. Intermittent vibration spikes — not from the machine. This is the one that fools operators into thinking the rotor is unstable. Nine times out of ten it is micro-movement at the probe-to-housing interface. The locking mechanism inside the housing has fatigued. The probe is vibrating in its mount, not the shaft. You will see it as broadband noise on the spectrum, not a discrete frequency. Torque the probe to spec, but if the housing threads are worn, torque means nothing. Replace the housing.
3. Fluid ingress — gap contamination. Process fluid, lube oil mist, or wash-down water has entered the housing and coated the probe tip. The eddy-current field is being attenuated by the conductive fluid layer. You will see a DC shift in gap voltage and erratic readings that do not correlate with any mechanical event. Flush the housing if you can, but if the seal has failed, the housing needs to come out. Inspect the O-ring seats on the 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 before re-installation — they are the first thing to check.
Replacement procedure — field checklist:
- De-energize the Proximitor sensor before disconnecting the probe cable. The 3300 XL Proximitor draws from the monitor rack — isolate the channel at the rack, not just at the field junction box.
- Record the existing gap voltage before removal. This is your baseline. If the new assembly gaps to the same voltage at the same physical depth, you have a valid installation.
- Thread engagement: the 085 mounting thread on the 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 requires clean, undamaged threads in the probe port. Run a thread chaser before installing the new housing if the old one showed any galling.
- Gap setting: install the probe into the new housing, insert into the port, and adjust depth until gap voltage reads target value (per system drawing). Lock the probe with the jam nut — do not rely on friction alone. Vibration will back it out.
- Cable routing: the 5 m cable on this assembly is factory-terminated. Do not cut or splice. Route with a minimum bend radius of 50 mm and secure with cable clamps every 300 mm to prevent fatigue cracking at the connector boot.
- After installation, verify the 3300 XL monitor channel shows OK status and gap voltage is within the acceptance band. Log the final gap voltage in your maintenance record.
- No firmware changes are required for a like-for-like housing replacement. The Proximitor and monitor configuration remain unchanged.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The 3300 XL proximity transducer system was designed for the worst environments rotating machinery can produce — and the 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 housing assembly reflects that design philosophy at the mechanical level.
The housing body is constructed from stainless steel with a surface finish that resists corrosion from lube oil, process gas condensate, and industrial cleaning agents. The probe port sealing system uses dual O-rings rated for continuous service across a wide temperature range, maintaining ingress protection even as the housing cycles through thermal expansion and contraction during machine start-up and shutdown sequences.
Vibration resistance is not an afterthought. The internal probe retention mechanism is designed to maintain probe position under continuous broadband vibration — the same vibration environment the probe is measuring. This is a critical design requirement: a housing that allows probe movement under vibration will corrupt the very signal it is supposed to protect. The 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 meets Bently Nevada’s internal vibration qualification testing, which covers the frequency ranges and amplitudes typical of turbomachinery installations.
High-temperature performance: the housing assembly is rated for the ambient temperature ranges encountered in turbine bearing housings and compressor seal areas. The cable jacket on the 5 m extension is rated for elevated temperature service, and the connector boot maintains flexibility at both temperature extremes — critical for installations where the cable must flex during maintenance access without cracking.
In offshore and coastal installations, salt-laden air accelerates corrosion on any exposed metal surface. The stainless steel construction of the 21000-16-05-00-085-03-01 housing provides the corrosion resistance margin needed for these environments without requiring additional protective coatings that could interfere with dimensional tolerances.
Global Express Logistics
We ship from our Xiamen warehouse. That matters because Xiamen is a major international freight hub with daily DHL Express and FedEx International Priority departures to every major industrial region — Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, North America, and Australia. When your machine is down, air freight transit time is the only number that matters.
Typical transit times from Xiamen:
- Southeast Asia (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia): 2–3 business days via DHL/FedEx
- Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait): 3–4 business days via DHL Express
- Europe (Germany, Netherlands, UK, France, Italy): 4–5 business days via FedEx International Priority
- North America (USA, Canada): 4–5 business days via DHL Express Worldwide
- Australia / New Zealand: 3–4 business days via DHL Express
- India / South Asia: 2–3 business days via FedEx International Priority
Every shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list, and country-of-origin documentation. For regulated industries requiring additional documentation (certificate of conformance, material traceability), specify your requirements at the time of order and we will prepare the package accordingly before dispatch.
Packaging is engineered for the component: the probe tip and connector are individually protected, the housing is foam-lined, and the outer carton is double-walled. We have shipped to active offshore platforms, remote power stations, and desert petrochemical facilities — the packaging holds up.
For shutdown-critical orders, contact us directly via WhatsApp for real-time stock confirmation and same-day dispatch cut-off times. We do not make you wait for a quote when your plant is offline.
