Product Overview

Bently Nevada 330100-50-00 — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime, Ship Today

Your turbine is tripped. The DCS is screaming. Every hour offline costs you five figures in lost production. You already know the fault — the 3300 XL proximity loop is dead, and the 330100-50-00 probe is the culprit. You don’t need a lecture on eddy-current physics right now. You need the part, boxed, labeled, and moving toward your site before end of business.

We stock the Bently Nevada 330100-50-00 8mm Proximitor Sensor in Xiamen, China. DHL Express and FedEx International Priority depart daily. Most destinations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe receive shipments within 48–72 hours of order confirmation. We’ve done this hundreds of times. We know what an emergency looks like, and we treat every order that way.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

After a decade of field work on turbomachinery protection systems, these are the failure modes and swap pitfalls that actually bite engineers on-site:

1. Confirm the fault is the probe, not the extension cable or Proximitor.
Before you pull the probe from the bearing housing, disconnect the extension cable at the Proximitor input and measure the probe’s DC output voltage directly with a calibrated −24 VDC supply. A healthy 330100-50-00 at a 1.0 mm gap should read approximately −10.5 VDC. If the output is rail-high (near −24 V) or rail-low (near 0 V) with no gap change, the probe coil is open or shorted. If the output is noisy but present, suspect the extension cable’s coaxial shield — a common failure point in high-vibration installations.

2. Total cable length must match the Proximitor calibration.
The 3300 XL Proximitor is factory-calibrated for a specific total cable length: 5 m, 9 m, or 15 m. The 330100-50-00 contributes 5 m. If your existing extension cable is 4 m, your total is 9 m — order the 330130-080-00-00 (8 m extension) to maintain that loop. Mismatched cable length shifts the sensitivity curve and introduces a static gap error that will fail your API 670 calibration check.

3. Target material correction — don’t skip this step.
The probe is calibrated for AISI 4140 steel. If your shaft is 17-4PH stainless, Inconel 718, or any non-standard alloy, apply the Bently Nevada target material correction factor before setting alarm setpoints. Ignoring this on a compressor with a stainless shaft can result in a 15–20% gap error — enough to mask a genuine bearing clearance problem.

4. Gap setting procedure on reinstallation.
With the machine on turning gear (slow roll), set the probe gap to the midpoint of the linear range: 1.0–1.25 mm. Verify the Proximitor output reads −10.5 ± 0.5 VDC. Lock the probe with the jam nut — torque to manufacturer spec, typically 14–20 N·m depending on the probe holder thread. Do not rely on feel; an under-torqued probe will back out under vibration within hours.

5. Common fault codes on 3500 Series monitors after probe swap.
– OK LED off / Not OK relay energized immediately after swap: Gap out of linear range. Re-adjust probe depth.
– Intermittent OK dropout at slow roll: Extension cable shield continuity issue. Swap the extension cable before condemning the new probe.
– High static reading with correct gap: Target material mismatch or wrong Proximitor calibration length. Verify both before proceeding.
– Excessive noise on orbit plot: Ground loop between probe body and bearing housing. Verify probe holder is electrically isolated per API 670 installation requirements.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 330100-50-00 is not a lab instrument. It was designed to survive the environments that destroy lesser sensors — and it has a 40-year field record to prove it.

The probe body is machined from 316 stainless steel with a PEEK (polyether ether ketone) tip encapsulant. PEEK maintains dimensional stability and dielectric properties from cryogenic temperatures to +177°C, which is why this probe survives in the hot-section bearing housings of gas turbines where epoxy-potted competitors fail within months. The integral coaxial cable uses a fluoropolymer (PTFE) dielectric that resists hydrocarbon absorption — a critical property in compressor applications where lube oil mist is present at the probe tip.

Vibration endurance: the 3300 XL probe system is qualified to 20 g continuous sinusoidal vibration across 10–2,000 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6. In practice, this means the probe survives the resonant frequencies of the machinery it monitors — including the blade-pass frequencies of centrifugal compressors that can exceed 1,000 Hz at the bearing housing.

Humidity and ingress: the probe assembly is rated IP67 when properly installed with the supplied cable gland. The Proximitor enclosure is rated IP65. In offshore and coastal installations where salt fog and condensation are constant, this rating has proven sufficient for 5+ year service intervals without seal degradation.

EMI immunity: the coaxial cable construction provides inherent shielding against the high-frequency electromagnetic interference generated by variable-frequency drives, arc furnaces, and high-voltage switchgear — all common in the industrial environments where this sensor is deployed.

Global Express Logistics

Our warehouse is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province — one of China’s primary export hubs with direct access to Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN). This is not a drop-ship operation. Parts are physically on our shelves, inspected, and ready to pack.

Standard emergency dispatch process:

  • Order confirmed before 14:00 CST → same-day dispatch via DHL Express or FedEx International Priority
  • Commercial invoice, packing list, and HS code documentation prepared in-house — no customs delays from incomplete paperwork
  • Tracking number provided within 2 hours of dispatch
  • Typical transit times: Southeast Asia 1–2 days | Middle East 2–3 days | Europe 2–4 days | Americas 3–5 days
  • Export-controlled items (ATEX/IECEx certified variants) shipped with full compliance documentation

For sites in countries with complex import requirements (India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia), we provide proforma invoices and HS code 9026.80.90 classification documentation on request to pre-clear customs before the shipment arrives. We’ve shipped to refineries, power plants, and offshore platforms across 60+ countries. We know the paperwork.

Bulk orders and project BOM sourcing: if you need multiple proximity transducer systems — probes, extension cables, and Proximitors as matched sets — contact us before ordering individually. We verify cable length compatibility and calibration matching before shipment, so your loop arrives ready to install, not ready to troubleshoot.
