Product Overview

Bently Nevada 330104-00-13-15-01-00 — 8mm Proximity Probe, 3300 XL Series: Stop the Clock on Your Downtime

Every hour a critical rotating machine sits idle costs money — in lost production, in penalty clauses, in maintenance crew overtime. When your Bently Nevada 3300 XL proximity probe fails, the vibration channel goes dark, the machinery protection system trips, and the turbine or compressor stays locked out until the sensor loop is restored. The 330104-00-13-15-01-00 is the exact 8mm eddy-current probe that restores that channel. We stock it in Xiamen and ship it the same day your purchase order lands.

This is not a generic sensor. The 330104-00-13-15-01-00 is factory-calibrated to the 3300 XL Proximitor® driver system, delivering a nominal sensitivity of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) across a linear range of 0.25 mm to 2.26 mm. Swap it in, reconnect the coaxial chain, verify the DC gap voltage at the Proximitor output, and your monitor rack is back online. No recalibration of the 3500 Series rack is required when replacing like-for-like within the 3300 XL measurement chain.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

The 3300 XL proximity probe loop is a three-component chain: probe → extension cable → Proximitor® sensor. When a channel faults, isolate the failure point before ordering parts. Here is the field procedure used on-site:

Step 1 — Read the Proximitor output voltage. Connect a calibrated DMM to the OK/Voltage output terminal of the 330180 Proximitor. At a nominal 1.0 mm air gap to an AISI 4140 target, you should read −10.0 VDC ±0.5 V. A reading outside −1 VDC to −18 VDC indicates a broken or shorted coaxial loop — the probe or extension cable has failed.

Step 2 — Disconnect the extension cable at the Proximitor end. Measure the DC resistance across the probe + extension cable assembly. An open circuit (>1 MΩ) confirms a broken center conductor. A near-zero reading confirms a short. Either condition means the probe or cable must be replaced.

Step 3 — Swap the probe only. If the extension cable resistance checks out (typically 8–15 Ω for a 5 m assembly), replace only the 330104-00-13-15-01-00 probe. Re-torque the probe tip to the machine housing per the OEM specification — typically 14–20 N·m depending on the mounting boss thread size.

Step 4 — Set the air gap. After mechanical installation, adjust the probe standoff to achieve a DC gap voltage of −10.0 VDC at the Proximitor output. Use a feeler gauge or dial indicator to set the physical gap to 1.0 mm before energizing. Fine-tune by rotating the probe body (the 330104 series uses a threaded barrel) until the Proximitor reads within ±0.2 V of target.

Step 5 — Verify the OK relay. On the 3500 Series monitor rack, confirm the channel OK relay re-energizes and the alert/danger setpoints are not exceeded at rest. If the OK relay stays de-energized after a valid gap voltage is confirmed, check the Proximitor power supply rail (−24 VDC nominal) and the rack channel configuration for any latched trip condition that requires a manual reset.

Common fault codes on 3500/42M and 3500/45 monitors:

  • NOT OK (channel fault): Proximitor output outside −1 to −18 VDC window — probe loop open or shorted.
  • ALERT (vibration): Shaft vibration exceeds setpoint — verify probe gap and target surface condition before assuming sensor fault.
  • BYPASS active: Channel was manually bypassed during prior maintenance — clear bypass before returning to service.
  • PWR FAIL: −24 VDC supply to Proximitor lost — check field junction box terminal block and cable continuity.

Configuration note: The 330104-00-13-15-01-00 does not use DIP switches or firmware. It is a passive eddy-current probe. All configuration (gap, sensitivity, alert/danger setpoints) is managed at the 3500 Series rack level via System 1 software or the rack front-panel keypad. No probe-side configuration is required after mechanical installation.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 330104-00-13-15-01-00 is built for environments where consumer-grade sensors fail within weeks. The probe body is machined from 316 stainless steel, providing resistance to the hydrocarbon condensates, lube oil mist, and process gas atmospheres found in compressor trains and turbine enclosures. The integral cable jacket is rated to 177°C continuous, covering the thermal envelope of most steam turbine bearing pedestals without derating.

Vibration immunity is a design requirement, not an afterthought. The probe tip assembly is potted with a high-temperature epoxy compound that prevents resonance of the internal coil winding under the broadband vibration spectra (10–2000 Hz) generated by rotating machinery. The coaxial connector is a positive-locking design that resists loosening under sustained vibration — a failure mode that causes intermittent NOT OK faults and is frequently misdiagnosed as a probe failure.

The ATEX / IECEx certification covers Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosive atmospheres, making this probe suitable for direct installation in gas compressor enclosures, offshore platform machinery spaces, and refinery process areas without additional barriers or zener diode isolators in the probe loop itself. The Proximitor® sensor handles the intrinsic safety boundary at the safe-area end of the cable.

Humidity and condensation resistance is achieved through the fully sealed probe body construction. There are no exposed PCB surfaces or unsealed cavities in the probe tip assembly. Units stored in original packaging maintain calibration stability for a minimum of 24 months without re-verification, based on Bently Nevada’s published shelf-life data.

Global Express Logistics

Our warehouse is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China — one of China’s primary export hubs with direct access to international freight lanes via Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and Xiamen Port. This geographic position allows us to reach most global destinations faster than suppliers based in inland Chinese cities.

Standard dispatch timeline: Orders confirmed before 14:00 CST are processed and handed to the carrier the same business day. Orders confirmed after 14:00 CST ship the following morning. For urgent requirements, contact us directly via WhatsApp to confirm real-time stock availability before placing the order.

Carrier options:
