Product Overview

330104-00-19-05-01-CN: Stop the Clock on Your Downtime — Ship Today from Xiamen

Your turbine tripped at 03:00. The DCS is screaming a HIGH-HIGH vibration fault on the radial bearing channel. Maintenance pulled the probe — tip is shorted, Proximitor® output is railed at –2 VDC. You need a verified, drop-in 3300 XL system in your hands before the next scheduled window or you’re looking at another 48-hour forced outage. That’s the situation we exist for.

The Bently Nevada 330104-00-19-05-01-CN is a complete, matched eddy current proximity transducer system — 8 mm probe, 5 m extension cable, 330180 Proximitor® sensor — pre-calibrated at 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil). We hold verified stock in Xiamen. DHL Express to most destinations: 2–4 business days. No broker delays, no grey-market risk.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Most common failure modes on the 330104 system — what you’ll actually see in the field:

1. Shorted Probe Tip (Physical Impact / Contamination)
Symptom: Proximitor® output locks at –2 VDC (minimum gap). Monitor card throws a Not OK (NOK) status. Confirm by disconnecting the probe from the extension cable and measuring probe tip impedance — a healthy probe reads approximately 7–8 Ω at 1 MHz. A dead short reads <1 Ω. Replace probe only; reuse extension cable and Proximitor® if they pass bench checks.

2. Open Circuit / Cable Break (Extension Cable Fatigue)
Symptom: Proximitor® output rails at –18 VDC (maximum gap). Common on installations with tight conduit bends or vibrating cable trays. Disconnect extension cable at both ends and perform continuity check on center conductor and shield. If open, replace extension cable — do NOT substitute with a non-matched cable; cable length is part of the calibration.

3. Proximitor® Oscillator Failure (Age / Overvoltage)
Symptom: Output is erratic or fixed regardless of gap change. Swap Proximitor® with a known-good unit while keeping the original probe and cable. If output normalizes, the Proximitor® is the culprit. Note: the 330180 Proximitor® is calibrated as a matched set with the 330104 probe — always replace as a system when in doubt to avoid scale factor drift.

4. Gap Setting After Replacement
This is where most field errors happen. After installing the new probe, set the air gap to the midpoint of the linear range: 1.0 mm ± 0.1 mm. Verify Proximitor® output reads approximately –10 VDC at this gap. If your monitor card shows a different center voltage, check whether the previous installation used a non-standard gap — document and correct it. Do not simply match the old gap without verifying the output voltage.

5. Monitor Card Compatibility Check
The 330104-00-19-05-01-CN is designed for 3300/16 and 3300/20 monitor cards. If you are integrating into a 3500-series rack, verify the monitor card’s input impedance and voltage range before installation. The output range (–2 to –18 VDC) is generally compatible, but SIL-rated loops require formal verification. Do not assume backward compatibility without checking the monitor card datasheet.

6. EMI-Induced Signal Noise
If you see high-frequency noise on the vibration signal after replacement — especially near VFDs or large motor starters — check cable routing. The coaxial extension cable shield must be grounded at one end only (Proximitor® end). Double-grounding creates a ground loop that couples electrical noise directly into the signal. Re-route cable away from power conductors where possible; minimum 150 mm separation from unshielded power cables.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 3300 XL system was not designed for a climate-controlled instrument room. It was built for the bearing housing of a 40 MW steam turbine running at 3,000 RPM in a coastal petrochemical plant — and it has to keep working when the ambient hits 55°C, the humidity is 95%, and the floor is vibrating at 12 mm/s RMS.

The probe assembly carries an IP67 rating, meaning it survives temporary immersion — relevant when steam leaks or wash-down cycles are part of your maintenance routine. The probe body is constructed from 316 stainless steel with a PEEK tip, resistant to the hydrocarbon vapors and H₂S concentrations common in refinery environments. The MIL-C-5015 connector is a military-spec bayonet lock — it does not vibrate loose.

Probe temperature tolerance extends to +177°C, which covers the bearing housing temperatures of most steam turbines and hot-section compressors without requiring heat shields or standoff extensions. The coaxial extension cable uses a fluoropolymer jacket rated for continuous exposure at +200°C — it will not embrittle or crack in high-temperature conduit runs.

The Proximitor® sensor is potted and sealed against moisture ingress. In offshore and coastal installations where salt-laden air accelerates corrosion on terminal blocks and PCBs, the potted construction provides a meaningful service life advantage over open-frame electronics. Units installed in North Sea platform applications have logged >8 years of continuous service without recalibration drift exceeding the API 670 tolerance band.

Vibration immunity is inherent to the non-contact measurement principle — there are no moving parts, no wear surfaces, no contact fatigue. The probe tip generates an electromagnetic field; the shaft passes through it. Mechanical vibration at the probe mounting location does not degrade measurement accuracy as long as the probe body remains rigidly fixed. Use thread-locking compound (Loctite 243 or equivalent) on the probe locknut and verify torque to spec after installation.
