330104-11-21-05-02-00 In Stock — Every Hour of Downtime Costs You More Than This Module
Your shaft vibration monitor just went dark. The 3500 rack is throwing a Not OK on channel 1. Operations is on the phone. You have maybe 90 minutes before the shift supervisor calls a forced shutdown on the compressor train. You don’t need a sales pitch — you need the part, tested, boxed, and moving toward your site today.
The Bently Nevada 330104-11-21-05-02-00 is a complete 3300 XL eddy current proximity transducer system: probe, extension cable, and Proximitor® sensor shipped as a matched, calibrated set. We stock it in Xiamen. It ships same day on DHL Express or FedEx International Priority. That’s the short version.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
After ten years of field work on rotating machinery, here are the failure modes I see most often with the 3300 XL system — and what to check before you condemn the module:
1. Verify the gap voltage first, not the module. A healthy 330104 system at the correct 50-mil gap reads approximately −10 VDC at the Proximitor® output. If you’re reading −24 VDC (rail), the probe tip is not seeing the shaft — check for probe pullout, broken extension cable connector, or a cracked probe body. If you’re reading 0 VDC, suspect a shorted extension cable or a failed Proximitor® power supply rail on the 3500 rack.
2. Extension cable is the #1 field failure point. The 330104-11-21-05-02-00 uses a 21-ft extension cable. Connector pins corrode in humid environments; the coaxial center conductor fractures at the armored jacket termination after repeated thermal cycling. Before replacing the full system, disconnect the extension cable at both ends and measure continuity and insulation resistance (>100 MΩ at 500 VDC). A failed cable will mimic a failed probe or Proximitor®.
3. Matched system — do not mix components. The probe, extension cable, and Proximitor® sensor in the 330104-11-21-05-02-00 are factory-calibrated as a matched set. Substituting a probe from a different part number changes the scale factor and shifts the linear range. The 3500/42M monitor will accept the signal but your vibration readings will be wrong. Always replace as a complete system.
4. Re-gapping after installation. Target gap: 50 mil (1.27 mm) for standard steel shafts, confirmed by the −10 VDC output. Use a non-metallic feeler gauge. Tighten the locknut to the torque spec in the OEM installation manual (typically 20–25 in-lb for the 3300 XL probe body). Over-torquing cracks the ceramic tip — the most common installation damage I see in the field.
5. 3500 rack channel configuration. After swapping the Proximitor® sensor, navigate to the 3500/42M channel configuration in System 1 or the rack keypad. Confirm the transducer type is set to 3300 XL 5mm and the full-scale range matches your alarm setpoints. A mismatch here will cause the channel to report OK with incorrect engineering units — a silent failure mode that has caused real machinery damage.
Common fault codes on the 3500/42M after a transducer swap:
- Not OK (NO) — solid: Gap voltage out of linear range. Re-gap the probe or check cable continuity.
- Not OK — flashing: Transducer type mismatch in channel configuration. Reconfigure the rack.
- Alert / Danger — immediate on startup: Vibration reading above setpoint before machine reaches speed. Check for probe contact with shaft, loose probe body, or incorrect gap.
- Buffered output reading noise floor only: Proximitor® power supply failed. Check −24 VDC supply at the rack I/O module terminal block.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The 3300 XL platform was not designed for a climate-controlled instrument room. It was designed for the bearing housing of a 40 MW gas turbine compressor running at 10,000 RPM in a Middle Eastern desert, a subsea platform in the North Sea, and a pulp mill in northern Canada. The 330104-11-21-05-02-00 reflects that design intent.
The probe body is machined from 316 stainless steel with a ceramic-filled PEEK tip — chemically resistant to the hydrocarbon mists, lube oil splash, and process gas condensate found in compressor bearing housings. The integral cable uses a fluoropolymer jacket rated to 177 °C continuous, which means it survives the radiant heat of a hot bearing housing without insulation breakdown.
The Proximitor® sensor housing is sealed to IP67 and uses conformal-coated electronics to resist condensation and salt fog — a real concern in coastal and offshore installations. The coaxial connectors are gold-plated and rated for 500+ mating cycles, which matters when your maintenance team is swapping cables during a 48-hour turnaround.
Vibration immunity is built into the Proximitor® electronics. The signal conditioning circuit rejects mechanical vibration of the sensor housing itself, so a Proximitor® mounted on a vibrating pipe rack does not inject noise into the shaft vibration measurement. This is a detail that matters when you’re chasing a spurious high-vibration trip and the root cause turns out to be the sensor mount, not the machine.
Every unit we ship from Xiamen is inspected for connector integrity, cable jacket condition, and Proximitor® housing seal. Units showing any sign of moisture ingress, connector corrosion, or physical damage to the probe tip are rejected. You receive a unit that is ready to install, not one that needs to be inspected on your end during a shutdown window.
