Fault: Gap Voltage Out of Range (Monitor Alarm 01)
Before condemning the probe, check the gap. Target-to-probe gap must sit within 25–325 mil. A reading at –24 V rail means the probe is too far; near 0 V means it is nearly touching. Re-gap to approximately 175 mil (4.4 mm) and re-zero the monitor. If gap voltage remains erratic after re-gapping, inspect the extension cable at the conduit entry point — that is where 80% of cable faults originate, not at the probe tip.

Critical: NSv vs. Standard 3300 XL — Do Not Mix
The NSv Proximitor uses a different supply voltage architecture. Installing an NSv probe into a monitor configured for standard 3300 XL voltage produces a false OK reading — the monitor will not alarm, but sensitivity is wrong. 3. Remove the probe from the bearing housing. Measure and record thread engagement depth before removal.
4. Install the new 330904-00-12-50-02-00 to the same thread depth. Torque the locknut to 15–20 Nm — do not over-torque.
5. Reconnect the extension cable. Confirm the MIL-C-5015 locking ring is fully engaged.
6. Re-energize and verify gap voltage at the monitor. Adjust to –10 to –12 VDC (midpoint of linear range).
