Product Overview

Mitsubishi G1HCPU — Stop the Bleeding. Get Your Line Back in 48 Hours.

Every minute your MELSEC-G system sits idle, you’re burning money. A failed G1HCPU CPU module doesn’t just halt one machine — it can cascade across an entire production cell. We stock the Mitsubishi G1HCPU specifically because it’s a legacy module that most distributors stopped carrying years ago. When your maintenance team is staring at a dead rack at 2 AM, we’re the call that gets you back online.

Shipped from Xiamen, China via DHL Express or FedEx Priority. Most international destinations receive within 3–5 business days. No minimum order. No waiting on factory lead times.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

The G1HCPU fails in predictable ways. Here’s what ten years of field calls have taught us about this module:

Common Fault Indicators:

  • RUN LED off, ERROR LED solid red: CPU has halted due to a watchdog timeout or memory checksum failure. First action — attempt a cold restart with the RUN/STOP switch. If the error persists after power cycle, the CPU itself is the likely culprit, not the program.
  • All outputs frozen, inputs still reading: Classic sign of a CPU scan cycle lockup. Check for infinite loops in ladder logic first, but on aged units (10+ years), internal SRAM degradation causes this without any program fault.
  • Intermittent communication drops on MELSECNET: Often misdiagnosed as a network module issue. The G1HCPU’s communication processor shares the same power rail as the main CPU. A degraded capacitor bank on the CPU board causes voltage sag under load, dropping the network link.
  • Battery alarm (BAT LED flashing): Replace the lithium backup battery immediately. On the G1HCPU, a dead battery doesn’t just lose the clock — it can corrupt the program memory area if power is cycled while the battery is below threshold.

Replacement Procedure — Field Checklist:

  1. Back up the existing program via GX Developer before touching anything. If the CPU is completely dead, check if a backup exists on the EEPROM cassette (if fitted).
  2. Power down the entire base unit — do not hot-swap the G1HCPU. The G-Series backplane does not support live module removal.
  3. Note the RUN/STOP switch position before removal. New module ships in STOP mode by default.
  4. Seat the replacement G1HCPU firmly into the leftmost slot of the G-Series base unit. The module is keyed — if it doesn’t seat smoothly, do not force it.
  5. Power up in STOP mode first. Verify the CPU comes online without error LEDs before attempting program download.
  6. Download the backed-up program via GX Developer. Confirm program checksum matches.
  7. Set the RUN/STOP switch to RUN. Monitor the first 5 scan cycles for any I/O discrepancies.
  8. There are no DIP switches or address settings on the G1HCPU itself — the module is auto-addressed by the base unit. No jumper configuration required.
  9. If your system uses a MELSECNET/G network, re-register the CPU station number in the network parameters after replacement.

Firmware Note: The G1HCPU does not have field-upgradeable firmware. The operating system is mask-ROM based. If you receive a unit with a different hardware revision suffix, verify compatibility with your GX Developer version before installation.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The MELSEC-G platform was engineered for Japanese automotive and heavy industry — environments that don’t forgive weak hardware. The G1HCPU carries that DNA.

The module’s conformal-coated PCB resists condensation and airborne contaminants common in food processing and chemical plants. Operating humidity tolerance extends to 90% RH non-condensing, which covers most coastal and tropical factory environments without additional enclosure conditioning.

Vibration resistance meets IEC 61131-2 standards — the same benchmark used for rail and marine automation. The backplane connector uses a high-retention force design that maintains contact integrity even in environments with continuous low-frequency vibration from compressors, presses, or conveyor drives mounted to the same structural frame.

Thermal performance is conservative by design. The 0–55°C operating range assumes worst-case panel interior temperatures, not ambient room temperature. In practice, units installed in properly ventilated panels with 40°C ambient have logged 15+ years of continuous operation without CPU replacement.

All units in our Xiamen stock are stored in ESD-safe, climate-controlled conditions. Each module is individually inspected for physical damage, connector integrity, and battery voltage before dispatch. We do not ship modules with depleted batteries — the backup cell is tested and replaced if below 2.8V.

Global Express Logistics

Our dispatch warehouse is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province — one of China’s primary export hubs with direct access to DHL, FedEx, and UPS international gateways.

Standard Dispatch Timeline:

  • Orders confirmed before 14:00 CST ship same business day.
  • Orders confirmed after 14:00 CST ship next business day.
  • DHL Express: 2–4 business days to Europe, North America, Southeast Asia.
