TM0180-A08-B00-C12-D10 — Every Hour of Downtime Costs You. We Ship Today.
Your turbine tripped at 03:00. The DCS is screaming a HIGH VIBRATION alarm on the radial channel. Maintenance pulled the probe — tip is shorted, cable abraded at the gland. You need a PROVIBTECH TM0180-A08-B00-C12-D10 on-site before the next shift handover, not in three weeks. That is exactly what we do.
We stock the TM0180-A08-B00-C12-D10 in Xiamen, China. DHL Express and FedEx International Priority labels print the same day your order clears. Most destinations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe receive shipment within 48–72 hours door-to-door. No minimum order. No waiting on factory lead time.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips
The three faults that kill TM0180 probes in the field — and how to confirm each before you order:
1. Shorted probe tip (most common after mechanical contact)
Connect a multimeter across the probe coil pins (center conductor to shield). A healthy probe reads 5–9 Ω. A dead short (0 Ω) or open circuit (>50 Ω) means the probe is gone. Do not waste time re-gapping a shorted probe — replace it.
2. Intermittent cable fault at the gland fitting
Flex the cable near the probe body while watching the vibration channel on the monitor. If the reading spikes or drops to –24 V (gap loss), the cable is cracked internally. The TM0180 integral cable is not field-repairable — the probe assembly must be replaced as a unit.
3. Driver oscillator failure masquerading as probe fault
Before condemning the probe, swap the driver first. Plug a known-good probe into the suspect driver. If the fault follows the driver, you have saved yourself a probe replacement. The TM0180 probe itself is passive — it cannot fail electrically without physical damage.
Step-by-step replacement procedure (TM0180-A08-B00-C12-D10):
- Isolate the channel. Bypass or inhibit the trip function on the associated monitor card before breaking the probe connection. Failure to do this on a live API 670 system will trigger a spurious shutdown.
- Record the existing gap voltage. Note the DC output from the driver before removal. Target reinstallation gap: typically –10 to –11 VDC (≈1.27–1.40 mm air gap for 4140 steel target).
- Remove the probe. Unscrew the probe from the bracket. The TM0180 uses a standard M10×1.0 thread on the A08 body. Do not use pipe wrenches — use the correct spanner flats to avoid damaging the cable exit.
- Install the new probe. Thread in finger-tight, then advance to achieve the target gap. Use a feeler gauge at the tip — do not rely solely on the voltage reading until the system is confirmed stable.
- Verify gap voltage. Power up the driver. Confirm DC output is within ±0.5 V of the original recorded value. If sensitivity has shifted, the replacement probe may be from a different calibration batch — recalibrate the system per API 670 Annex D.
- Check alarm and trip setpoints. Confirm the monitor card setpoints have not drifted. Re-enable the trip function and return the machine to service.
Common fault codes on PROVIBTECH / Bently Nevada monitors when this probe fails:
- NOT OK / OK LED off: Gap out of range — probe shorted, open, or physically displaced.
- HIGH VIBRATION alarm with flat DC trend: Probe is reading a static gap, not vibration — cable break between probe and driver.
- Erratic 1× vibration spike: Probe tip contamination (oil sludge, metallic debris) or loose bracket causing probe-to-shaft contact at once-per-revolution.
- –24 VDC output (full negative rail): Open circuit in probe coil or extension cable — replace probe and verify extension cable continuity separately.
Reliability in Harsh Conditions
The TM0180 series was not designed for a clean lab. It was designed for the bearing pedestals of steam turbines running at 3,000 RPM in 55 °C ambient, for compressor trains in offshore platforms where salt spray and condensation are daily realities, and for gearboxes in cement mills where fine particulate infiltrates every unsealed enclosure.
The 316L stainless steel body resists process fluid ingress and corrosion from H₂S-bearing atmospheres. The integral cable uses a PTFE-insulated coaxial construction that maintains dielectric integrity from –40 °C to +120 °C without cracking or moisture absorption. The coil assembly is epoxy-potted — there are no internal mechanical joints to fatigue under continuous vibration exposure.
In API 670 machinery protection applications, the probe is expected to operate continuously for years without recalibration drift exceeding ±1% of full scale. The TM0180 meets this requirement when installed correctly and when the target shaft surface finish is maintained within Ra 0.4–0.8 µm. A rough or pitted shaft surface is the single largest source of apparent probe degradation in the field — inspect the shaft before condemning the probe.
Vibration endurance: the probe body and cable gland are qualified to withstand 10–2,000 Hz broadband vibration at levels consistent with the machinery it monitors. The cable exit is the mechanical weak point — ensure the cable is clamped within 100 mm of the probe body to prevent fatigue cracking at the gland under high-cycle vibration.
