Product Overview

VM600 CPU M 209-595-200-132 — Every Hour of Downtime Costs You. We Ship Today.

Your VM600 rack is dark. The CPU card is gone — and with it, every vibration channel, every speed signal, every protection trip on your turbine or compressor train. Operations is calling. Maintenance is waiting. You have one job: get that rack back online before the next shift handover turns into a production loss report.

We stock the VIBRO METER VM600 CPU M 209-595-200-132 in Xiamen, China. Same-day DHL/FedEx dispatch on confirmed orders. No broker delays, no “check back in two weeks.” If you need it, we move it.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Fault Scenario 1 — Rack goes offline after power cycle: The VM600 CPU M is the first card the rack firmware handshakes with on boot. If the rack powers up but VibroSight® cannot establish communication, and the CPU card’s status LED is amber or off, the CPU M is the primary suspect. Before condemning the card, check the backplane connector pins for oxidation and verify the rack power supply (RPS) is delivering stable voltage. A marginal RPS will kill a CPU card faster than anything else on site.

Fault Scenario 2 — Intermittent channel dropouts across all I/O modules: If AMC8 or MPC4 cards are reporting intermittent faults simultaneously, the root cause is almost always upstream — the CPU M. Individual I/O card faults are isolated; system-wide dropouts point to the master controller. Log the fault timestamps in VibroSight® and check for correlation with ambient temperature spikes. Thermal cycling is the number-one killer of this card in outdoor or poorly ventilated enclosures.

Fault Scenario 3 — VibroSight® shows “CPU Not Responding” or “Rack Communication Lost”: This is a hard CPU M failure. Do not waste time reseating the card more than once. If reseating does not restore communication within two boot cycles, the card is failed. Pull it, tag it, and install the replacement.

Replacement Procedure — Field Notes:

  • Power down the rack completely before extracting the CPU M. Hot-swapping this card is not supported and will corrupt the rack configuration stored in the CPU’s non-volatile memory.
  • Hardware revision suffix matters. The -132 suffix in 209-595-200-132 identifies a specific hardware revision. Installing a different revision may require a VibroSight® firmware update before the rack will accept the new card. Confirm your VibroSight® version before ordering a different revision.
  • Configuration backup first. Before pulling the failed card, export your full rack configuration from VibroSight® if the software can still communicate at all. Even a partial export saves hours of re-commissioning. If the card is completely dead, you will need to reload from your last saved configuration file — this is why you keep offline backups.
  • No DIP switches on this card. The VM600 CPU M does not use physical DIP switches for addressing. All rack slot assignments and module addressing are handled through VibroSight® software configuration. After installing the replacement, re-run the rack auto-discovery function in VibroSight® to re-map all I/O modules.
  • Firmware flash may be required. If the replacement card ships with a different firmware version than your rack expects, VibroSight® will flag a firmware mismatch on first boot. Follow the VibroSight® firmware update procedure — do not attempt to operate the rack with a mismatched firmware version in a protection-critical application.
  • Verify all channel setpoints after replacement. Trip levels, alarm thresholds, and OK relay logic must be verified against your site’s machinery protection philosophy document after any CPU card replacement. Do not assume the restored configuration is correct without a point-by-point check.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The VM600 platform was engineered for continuous operation in environments that would destroy consumer-grade electronics within weeks. The CPU M card is no exception. Meggitt designed this module for deployment in gas turbine enclosures, offshore platform control rooms, and petrochemical plant MCC rooms — environments where vibration, thermal cycling, and humidity are daily realities, not edge cases.

The card’s PCB uses conformal coating on critical circuit areas to resist moisture ingress and condensation — a common failure mode in coastal and tropical installations. The Eurocard form factor with positive card-edge locking ensures the module maintains solid backplane contact even in high-vibration installations where rack enclosures are mounted directly on machinery skids. Connector contacts are gold-plated to resist the oxidation that causes intermittent faults in humid or chemically aggressive atmospheres.

Thermal management is handled through the rack’s forced-air cooling system, but the CPU M is designed to tolerate brief thermal excursions without data corruption. The non-volatile memory architecture means that even an unexpected power loss will not corrupt the stored rack configuration — the card restores its last known good state on the next power-up cycle.

For installations in extreme environments — desert heat, arctic cold, or high-vibration offshore applications — we recommend specifying new OEM stock rather than tested surplus. The margin between a new card and a card with 50,000 hours of thermal cycles behind it matters when your machinery protection system is the last line of defense before a catastrophic bearing failure.
