Product Overview

1794-PS1 Down? Every Minute of Downtime Costs You — Get It Back Online Fast

Your FLEX I/O bank just lost power. The adapter is dark, the I/O modules are unresponsive, and your line is standing still. Nine times out of ten, the culprit is the 1794-PS1 backplane power supply — a module that runs hot, runs hard, and eventually gives out without warning. We stock it. We ship it today. From Xiamen to your dock via DHL or FedEx Express, typically within 48–72 hours to most destinations worldwide.

This is not a catalog listing. This is a direct line to a stocked unit, tested, verified, and ready to drop into your FLEX I/O bank the moment it arrives.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Common failure signatures of a dead 1794-PS1:

  • All I/O module status LEDs go dark simultaneously — the backplane bus has collapsed.
  • Adapter (e.g., 1794-AENT) shows solid red fault LED or drops off the EtherNet/IP network entirely.
  • RSLogix / Studio 5000 throws I/O Module Fault or Connection Timeout on every module in the bank — not just one.
  • 24V DC input is confirmed present at the terminal block, but the 5V backplane rail reads zero with a multimeter.
  • Module body is warm to the touch even with no load — internal regulator has failed short.

Step-by-step hot-swap replacement procedure:

  1. Isolate the bank. Remove the 24V DC input fuse or open the upstream breaker feeding the 1794-PS1 terminal block. Do not rely on software inhibit alone.
  2. Document the bank layout. Photograph or sketch the module order before touching anything — FLEX I/O modules are position-sensitive for some adapter configurations.
  3. Remove the failed 1794-PS1. Loosen the DIN rail locking tab, slide the module out of the bank. The backplane connector disengages cleanly — no tools required.
  4. Inspect the backplane connector. Check for bent pins or carbon scoring. A shorted 1794-PS1 can occasionally damage the backplane connector on the adjacent adapter — verify continuity before installing the replacement.
  5. Seat the new 1794-PS1. Align the backplane connector, press firmly until the locking tab clicks. There are no DIP switches or address settings on this module — it is purely passive on the backplane bus.
  6. Restore 24V DC input. Reinsert the fuse or close the breaker. The adapter should re-establish its network connection within 10–30 seconds.
  7. Verify in Studio 5000. Confirm all I/O modules return to Running state. If any module remains faulted, check that it was not damaged by the power event that killed the supply.
  8. Check total backplane current budget. If the 1794-PS1 failed prematurely, calculate the sum of all module 5V current draws. If it exceeds 2.7A (90% of rated), upgrade to the 1794-PS3 (5A) to prevent recurrence.

Configuration notes — no firmware matching required: The 1794-PS1 carries no firmware and requires no configuration. It is a hardware-only module. Unlike the adapter or I/O modules, there is no electronic keying, no RSNetWorx profile, and no Studio 5000 module definition to update after replacement. Swap it, power it, done.

When to upgrade instead of replace: If your bank has grown since original commissioning — additional analog modules, high-density digital cards, or a second adapter — recalculate your backplane current budget. The 1794-PS3 (5A) is a direct form-factor upgrade and eliminates the risk of repeat failures from an undersized supply.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 1794-PS1 was engineered for the realities of industrial floor environments, not a climate-controlled server room. Rockwell Automation designed this module to operate continuously at 55°C ambient — which means it can handle the radiant heat of a packed control cabinet in a foundry, a press shop, or a food processing line running three shifts.

Vibration resistance is built into the DIN rail locking mechanism and the backplane connector design. The module has no moving parts, no fans, and no electrolytic capacitors exposed to high ripple current — the primary failure modes of cheaper third-party alternatives. The conformal-coated variant (1794-PS1K) extends this further, sealing the PCB against condensation, cleaning solvents, and airborne particulates common in automotive paint shops and chemical processing facilities.

Units supplied from our Xiamen warehouse are stored in climate-controlled conditions, anti-static packaging, and inspected for label authenticity and seal integrity before dispatch. We do not supply grey-market or reconditioned units without explicit disclosure. What you order is what Rockwell built.

Global Express Logistics

Our dispatch hub is in Xiamen, Fujian, China — one of the country’s primary export ports with direct DHL and FedEx Express gateway access. Here is how your order moves:

  • Order confirmed before 14:00 CST: Same-day dispatch in most cases.
  • DHL Express Worldwide: Europe (DE, NL, UK, PL) — 2–3 business days. Southeast Asia (SG, TH, MY, VN) — 1–2 business days. North America (US, CA, MX) — 3–5 business days.
  • FedEx International Priority: Available as an alternative carrier for destinations where FedEx has stronger last-mile coverage.
  • Customs documentation: Commercial invoice, packing list, and HS code declaration (HS 8537.10) prepared and attached to every shipment. We have experience clearing industrial electronics through EU, US, and ASEAN customs without delays.
  • Tracking: AWB number provided within 2 hours of dispatch. Real-time tracking link sent directly to your email.
  • Emergency freight: For critical shutdowns, contact us via WhatsApp for same-day courier options and priority handling.
