Product Overview

330910-00-20-10-02-00 — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime

Every minute a turbine or compressor sits idle, you’re bleeding money. The Bently Nevada 330910-00-20-10-02-00 is an 8 mm eddy-current proximity probe from the 3300 NSv (Non-Standard Voltage) Series — a precision instrument that sits between your rotating shaft and a potential six-figure production loss. When this probe fails, there is no workaround. You need an exact replacement, fast, with zero compromise on calibration or traceability.

At siemensplc.com, we stock this unit in Xiamen and ship globally via DHL and FedEx Express. Same-day dispatch on confirmed orders before 15:00 CST. No broker delays. No grey-market risk. Just the part you need, moving toward your site before your shift ends.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Ten years of field calls teach you one thing: most 330910-series failures are misdiagnosed. Before you condemn the probe, run through this sequence.

Step 1 — Confirm the fault is the probe, not the driver. Disconnect the probe from the 330180 driver. Measure driver output voltage at the probe connector. You should see approximately -24 VDC supply. If supply is absent, the driver is the culprit — not the probe. Replacing the probe will not fix a dead driver.

Step 2 — Check gap voltage at the monitor. With the probe reconnected and the shaft stationary, the monitor channel should read -10.0 VDC ± 0.5 V at a 1.0 mm gap on AISI 4140 steel. A reading outside -8 V to -12 V at nominal gap indicates probe degradation, target surface contamination, or a cracked probe tip. Wipe the target area with isopropyl alcohol before condemning the probe.

Step 3 — Inspect the integral cable for micro-fractures. The 2.0 m integral cable on the -00-20 variant is the most common mechanical failure point in high-vibration installations. Flex the cable near the probe body while watching the monitor output. A fluctuating reading under flex confirms cable damage — the probe tip itself may still be functional.

Step 4 — Replacement gap setting. When installing the new 330910-00-20-10-02-00, set the initial gap to 1.0 mm (40 mil) using a feeler gauge. Power up the system and verify the monitor reads -10.0 VDC ± 0.5 V before tightening the locknut. Do not rely on the previous probe’s gap setting — thermal cycling shifts the bracket position over time.

Step 5 — Do NOT mix NSv and XL series. The 3300 NSv probe operates on a different supply voltage and scale factor than the standard 3300 XL. Connecting an NSv probe to an XL driver will produce incorrect readings and may trigger false trips. Verify the driver part number (330180-X1-05 for NSv) before installation.

Common fault codes on 3500 monitors with this probe:

  • OK LED off / Not OK relay energized: Gap voltage out of range. Check probe gap and target surface condition.
  • Buffered output stuck at -1 VDC: Open circuit in probe or extension cable. Check connector seating at both ends.
  • Buffered output stuck at -17 VDC: Short circuit in probe cable. Inspect cable for crush damage or pinch points.
  • Intermittent vibration spikes at 1× running speed: Probe tip contamination or target runout exceeding 25 µm. Clean target and verify runout with a dial indicator.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The 330910-00-20-10-02-00 is not a lab instrument. It is built to survive the environments that destroy lesser sensors — and it has the certification stack to prove it.

The probe body is machined from stainless steel with an IP67-rated seal, tested to withstand continuous immersion in process fluids, steam condensate, and high-pressure wash-down. The integral cable jacket is rated for the full -35 °C to +121 °C operating range, covering everything from arctic compressor stations to the hot-end of a gas turbine enclosure.

Vibration endurance is validated to IEC 60068-2-6 sinusoidal sweep profiles — the kind of sustained resonance that cracks solder joints and fatigues cable shields in competing designs. The MIL-C-5015 connector on the -02-00 suffix variant provides positive locking under vibration, eliminating the intermittent signal loss that plagues push-fit connectors in high-cycle applications.

FM and CSA hazardous area certifications cover Class I, Division 1 installations — meaning this probe can be installed in live gas atmospheres without a hot-work permit. For petrochemical and LNG sites operating under strict ATEX or NEC Article 500 requirements, this is not a nice-to-have. It is a site access requirement.

API 670 compliance ensures the probe meets the machinery protection standard mandated by most EPC contractors and plant operators for turbines, compressors, and pumps in critical service. Calibration certificates ship with every unit, providing the traceability documentation your reliability team needs for maintenance records and insurance audits.
