Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

OK LED extinguished, PWR LED solid green: Internal DSP fault or corrupted non-volatile configuration. Hard power-cycle the rack — remove and reinsert the 3500/15 PSU, not just the module. If the OK LED does not recover within 90 seconds of power restoration, the module has failed internally. Field repair is not viable; the DSP and analog front-end are not field-replaceable assemblies.

Gap voltage locked at −24 VDC on one channel: Open circuit between the probe and the I/O module terminal. Disconnect the probe cable at the I/O module end and measure continuity on the center conductor and shield separately. A shorted probe body will read near 0 Ω on center-to-shield — replace the probe, not the monitor card. Only condemn the 3500/42 after the cable and probe check clean.

Seismic channel generating spurious danger trips with no process change: Shield grounding error on the accelerometer cable.
