Top Fault Codes You’ll See Before This Drive Dies:
- F228 — Excessive position deviation: Usually the first sign of a degraded power stage. The drive can no longer hold torque under load. Don’t waste time re-tuning — the output IGBTs are going.
- F860 — Overcurrent shutdown: Triggered by a shorted output phase or failing gate driver. Check motor insulation resistance first (should be >1 MΩ to PE). If motor checks out, the drive is the culprit.
