• Actuator unresponsive to remote commands — no movement on 4–20 mA or digital signal input; local handwheel still works. Classic sign the control board has lost its signal processing path.
• Fault code F02 / F05 on IQ display — internal PCB communication fault or power supply rail failure on the board itself. Don’t waste time resetting; the board is gone.
• Erratic position feedback — actuator hunts continuously or reports wrong position to DCS. The position encoder interface circuit on the 43409-03 is the usual culprit after moisture ingress.
