Swapping an IM151-1 looks straightforward — it’s not. Miss one step and you’ll spend another two hours chasing a ghost fault. Here’s the field-tested sequence:

Step 1 — Record the DIP switch address before you pull the old module. The PROFIBUS node address is set on an 8-position DIP switch on the front face of the 6ES7151-1BA02-0AB0. Photograph it. If the old module is completely dead and you can’t read the switches, check your STEP 7 hardware config or TIA Portal device list — the address is stored there. Mismatch = BF fault on the new module within seconds of power-up.

• 0x0301 / Station failure — IM151-1 not responding; confirm address and cable integrity
