Product Overview

iC65N 1P C1A — Stop the Bleed: Every Minute of Downtime Has a Price Tag

Your control panel is dark. The iC65N tripped — or worse, it failed to trip and took something downstream with it. You’ve already lost 20 minutes tracing the fault. The production manager is on the radio. The maintenance window is closing. This is exactly the scenario the Schneider Electric iC65N 1P C1A was built to resolve — and it’s exactly why we stock it in Xiamen, ready to move the same day you call.

The iC65N 1P C1A is a single-pole, 1A, C-curve miniature circuit breaker from Schneider Electric’s Acti9 / iC65 platform. It protects low-current control circuits — PLC auxiliary supplies, 24VDC instrumentation feeds, transmitter loops, HMI power rails — where nuisance tripping is unacceptable and a missed fault is catastrophic. At 1A rated current with a C-curve characteristic (instantaneous trip at 5–10× In), it’s the right tool for sensitive, resistive, and lightly inductive loads that can’t tolerate the blunt force of a D-curve device.

We don’t sell hope. We sell parts that are physically on the shelf, cleared for export, and moving toward your site within 24 hours of order confirmation. DHL Express, FedEx International Priority — your choice. Xiamen to Frankfurt: 2 days. Xiamen to Houston: 3 days. Xiamen to Singapore: next morning.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Fault Pattern 1 — Nuisance Tripping on Startup
If the iC65N 1P C1A trips immediately when the control circuit energizes, the inrush current of the connected load is exceeding 10× In (10A peak). At 1A rated, this is a narrow margin. Check: capacitive loads on the 24VDC bus, long cable runs with high capacitance, or multiple instruments powering up simultaneously. Mitigation: stagger power sequencing, or evaluate whether a B-curve (3–5× In) variant better suits the load profile. Do not upsize to 2A without recalculating the cable protection coordination.

Fault Pattern 2 — MCB Trips but Won’t Reset
If the breaker trips and the handle won’t latch in the ON position, the fault is still present. Do not force it. Isolate the downstream circuit section by section. Common culprits in 1A control circuits: shorted instrumentation cable insulation (especially in high-humidity environments), failed transmitter power supply, or a ground fault on a 24VDC loop that’s referenced to chassis. Use a 500V insulation resistance tester on the cable before re-energizing.

Fault Pattern 3 — MCB Passes Visual Inspection but Circuit Is Dead
The iC65N uses a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism. In rare cases, the bimetal strip can fatigue after repeated overload cycles without tripping — the breaker appears ON but has high internal resistance. If voltage is present at the line terminal but absent at the load terminal with the breaker in the ON position, the breaker has failed internally. Replace immediately. This is not a resettable condition.

Replacement Checklist (Field Procedure)

  • Isolate upstream supply — confirm dead with a calibrated voltage tester, not a neon screwdriver.
  • Document terminal wire positions with a photo before removal.
  • Release DIN rail clip (bottom) and tilt the breaker forward to disengage from rail.
  • Transfer wires to new iC65N 1P C1A — torque line terminal to 2.5 N·m, load terminal to 2.5 N·m.
  • Snap onto DIN rail — confirm audible click and zero lateral play.
  • If the iC65N is part of an Acti9 busbar assembly, verify comb busbar seating before re-energizing.
  • Re-energize and monitor for 60 seconds. Log replacement in the panel maintenance record.

Accessory Compatibility Note: If the failed unit had an OF auxiliary contact block or MX shunt trip attached, these accessories transfer directly to the replacement iC65N — no rewiring required. Verify the auxiliary contact wiring polarity before closing the panel door.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The iC65N platform was not designed for office distribution boards. It was engineered for the kind of environments where equipment earns its keep: steel mill auxiliary panels running at 55°C ambient, offshore platform control rooms with salt-laden air, food processing facilities where daily washdowns push humidity to 95% RH, and automotive body shops where weld spatter and vibration are constants.

The thermal-magnetic trip mechanism is hermetically sealed against contamination. The contact system uses silver-tin oxide (AgSnO₂) contacts rated for 10,000 electrical operations at full rated current — a contact material chosen specifically for its resistance to arc erosion and contact welding under repetitive fault clearing. The housing is self-extinguishing V-0 rated thermoplastic, tested to IEC 60695-11-10.

Vibration resistance is validated to IEC 60068-2-6: 10–55Hz, 0.35mm amplitude — sufficient for DIN rail panels mounted directly on machine frames. Shock resistance per IEC 60068-2-27: 30g, 11ms half-sine. In practice, this means the iC65N will not nuisance-trip from the mechanical shock of a nearby press cycle or the vibration of a pump skid.

Temperature derating follows IEC 60898-1 standard curves. At +40°C ambient (the IEC reference temperature), the 1A unit carries its full rated current. At +60°C, derate to approximately 0.85× In — plan accordingly if your panel runs hot. At −25°C, the bimetal response slows slightly, but instantaneous magnetic trip performance is unaffected.

Global Express Logistics

Our Xiamen warehouse operates on a same-day dispatch model for orders confirmed before 15:00 CST. Here’s what that means in practice:

  • Europe (DE, NL, FR, UK): DHL Express — 2–3 business days door to door. Export documentation prepared same day. No customs delays on standard industrial components.
  • North America (US, CA, MX): FedEx International Priority — 3–4 business days. FDA/CBP compliant commercial invoice and packing list included.
  • Southeast Asia (SG, MY, TH, VN): DHL Express — 1–2 business days. Regional hub in Singapore accelerates last-mile delivery.
  • Middle East (AE, SA, QA): FedEx or DHL — 3–4 business days. HS code 8536.20 declared on all shipments for smooth customs clearance.
  • Australia & NZ: DHL Express — 3–4 business days.

Every shipment includes: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin (if required), and a tracking number pushed to your email within 2 hours of dispatch. For urgent plant shutdowns, we can arrange Saturday pickup with DHL on request — call or WhatsApp us directly.

All units are packed in anti-static foam inserts inside double-wall corrugated cartons. The iC65N’s DIN rail clip and terminal covers are protected against transit damage. What arrives at your site is what left our warehouse: factory-sealed, undamaged, and ready to install.
