Product Overview

Schneider Electric iC65N-2P-C16A — Stop the Clock on Your Downtime

Every minute a tripped or failed MCB keeps your panel dead is money walking out the door. Whether it’s a distribution board in a commercial fit-out, a control panel feeding a PLC rack, or a machine tool auxiliary circuit that just went dark — the iC65N-2P-C16A is the part you need, and we have it on the shelf in Xiamen right now. No lead-time negotiation. No factory backorder. We pull, test, pack, and hand to DHL the same day you confirm.

This is not a grey-market substitute. Every unit we ship carries intact Schneider Electric OEM packaging, holographic authenticity label, and factory QC seal. If your site engineer needs a CoC or test report for the project submittal, we generate it before the courier arrives.

Troubleshooting & Replacement Tips

Fault Scenario 1 — Breaker trips immediately on reset: This is a hard short downstream, not a nuisance trip. Before you swap the MCB, isolate every load on that circuit and megger the cable. Replacing the breaker into a live fault will destroy the new unit within seconds. Confirm insulation resistance >1 MΩ at 500 V DC before re-energising.

Fault Scenario 2 — Breaker trips after 2–10 minutes under load: Thermal overload. Check actual load current with a clamp meter. If the circuit is drawing >16 A sustained, the MCB is doing its job — the problem is upstream design or load creep. If current is within rating, check terminal torque (2 N·m). A loose connection generates localised heat that fools the bimetal element into tripping prematurely.

Fault Scenario 3 — Breaker will not latch (handle springs back to OFF): The trip mechanism is mechanically latched in the tripped position. On the iC65N, the Visi-Trip indicator window turns red/orange. You must push the handle fully to OFF past the tripped detent before it will reset to ON. If it still won’t latch after a full OFF-ON cycle, the internal mechanism is damaged — replace the unit.

Replacement procedure (live panel, hot-swap):

  1. De-energise the upstream RCCB or isolator feeding this MCB. Verify dead with a voltage tester on both poles — do not rely on the upstream breaker’s position indicator alone.
  2. Loosen the load-side terminals first (bottom), then the line-side terminals (top). Note conductor cross-section and labelling before removal.
  3. Slide the MCB off the DIN rail using a flat-blade screwdriver in the rail clip slot at the bottom of the device. The iC65N clips from the top — lever the bottom clip outward and rotate the unit off.
  4. If an iOF auxiliary contact or iSD shunt trip is fitted, disconnect the accessory wiring before removing the MCB body. The accessory snaps off the side without tools.
  5. Clip the new iC65N-2P-C16A onto the rail top-first, press the bottom clip home until it clicks. Reconnect accessories. Re-terminate conductors to 2 N·m. Verify phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral with a multimeter before re-energising.
  6. Re-energise upstream, then switch the new MCB ON. Monitor load current for 5 minutes. Log the replacement in the panel schedule.

Configuration note — Acti9 accessories: The iC65N-2P-C16A accepts the full Acti9 accessory range (iOF, iSD, iMN, iRC) without any DIP switch or address configuration. Accessories are purely mechanical/electrical snap-on — no firmware, no addressing. If you are replacing a unit that had an iOF wired to a BMS, verify the BMS alarm clears after replacement; some systems latch the fault signal and require a manual reset at the BMS controller.

Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The iC65N platform was not designed for a climate-controlled server room. It was designed for the real world — coastal substations with salt-laden air, outdoor distribution kiosks baking at 55 °C ambient, and machine tool panels that vibrate at 10–150 Hz all shift long.

The housing is a halogen-free, self-extinguishing thermoplastic rated to UL 94 V-0. The arc chamber uses a multi-gap design that quenches fault arcs in under 10 ms, preventing carbonisation of the contact surfaces that would otherwise degrade breaking capacity over repeated operations. The thermal-magnetic trip unit is factory-calibrated and sealed — it does not drift with age or humidity cycles the way older bimetal designs do.

Vibration qualification is per IEC 60068-2-6: sinusoidal sweep 10–150 Hz, 2 g acceleration, three axes. Shock qualification is per IEC 60068-2-27: 30 g, 11 ms half-sine. These are not paper specifications — they reflect the same test regime applied to the switchgear going into offshore platforms and rail traction panels. For a distribution board in a standard industrial building, the iC65N is significantly over-engineered for the environment, which is exactly why it outlasts cheaper alternatives by years.

Humidity endurance is tested to IEC 60068-2-78: 40 °C, 93% RH, 21 days. Condensation on the terminal block does not cause tracking or creepage failures because the pollution degree 2 rating and the IP40 terminal cover design keep moisture away from live parts during normal operation. In coastal or high-humidity installations, we recommend fitting the optional terminal covers (A9A15000 series) as a standard practice, not an afterthought.

Global Express Logistics

Our warehouse is in Xiamen, Fujian — one of China’s primary export hubs with direct DHL, FedEx, and UPS gateway access. This matters when you are trying to get a part to a site in Rotterdam, Houston, or Kuala Lumpur before the next production shift.

Standard export flow:

  1. Order confirmed before 14:00 CST: Same-day pick, pack, and export documentation. DHL/FedEx pickup same evening.
  2. Export clearance: We handle all CN customs export declarations. HS code 8536.20 (automatic circuit breakers, <1000 V). No delays at origin customs.
  3. Transit times (door-to-door, business days): Southeast Asia 2–3 days | Europe 3–5 days | North America 3–5 days | Middle East 4–6 days | Australia 3–4 days.
  4. Tracking: AWB number sent within 2 hours of pickup. Full track-and-trace via DHL/FedEx portal. We monitor shipments and proactively flag any customs holds.
  5. Import duties: Shipped DAP (Delivered At Place) as standard. DDP available on request for customers who need zero customs involvement at destination.
  6. Emergency freight: For genuine production-stop situations, we can arrange next-flight-out courier with 12–18 hour door-to-door to major hubs. Contact us directly on WhatsApp for this service.

Every shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list, and Certificate of Origin. Test reports and CoC are included in the box for iC65N units — no need to chase documentation after delivery.
